On June 4th, I joined another human model croquis (quick drawing) session, where each participant made drawings of 6 poses, 20 minutes each.
\nNow, in the crowded room, some 20 artists surrounded the modeling stage — and none of them was authorized to instruct the model about his\/her orientation. Of course, therefore, the model changed which way to face, voluntarily.
\nAs you can easily guess, in a situation like this, some of the artists have to meet some bad luck —
\nAs you see below,
\nwhen the model was lying on the ground, with her feet (On June 4th, the model happened to be a female) facing me, I had to keep standing on my feet while drawing the pose. Otherwise, I would have made an enigmatic drawing of her soles in the front! And I had large sheets of paper — 482mm x 630mm (19″ x 24.8″) on that day. (Holding such a sheet with one arm and drawing with the remaining hand was not an easy job! And each pose lasted only 20 minutes.) \u00a0Still, a pose like this makes a “drawing” anyway, if your “remaining hand” makes a complete drawing.
\nEven more problematic was the pose shown on the bottom below — a “plain standing pose” hardly makes a “drawing,” so the artist has to, for instance, add some background effects, to make a “drawing” — in only 20 minutes, on a 19″ x 24.8″ sheet of paper!<\/p>\n
