So, with the “uncontrollable medium” shown just below, I made
\nsix croquis at the Jan. 12 croquis session — 20 minutes each.<\/p>\n

On this particular day, I had to overcome another difficulty —
\nover-congestion! Usually, the upper limit of the artists enlisted
\nis 25 at this croquis session, but I guess by an office error or something,
\nmore than 30 artists were there!<\/p>\n

Being a good Christian guy, I gave my seat over to a latecomer and
\nput myself on the floor.<\/p>\n

Now, the toughest poses to draw when you are positioned on the floor are,
\nneedless to say, when the model is lying on the floor.
\nUsually, I stand up and draw on my feet when the model is “flat on the floor.”<\/p>\n

(;; >_<) “>\u00a0 \u00a0In an overcrowded studio like this, alas, my standing up would have
\ndisabled some artists behind me from drawing!<\/p>\n

So, the floor manager was at a loss. So was I — for a moment.
\nI threw myself on the floor and began drawing with the left side of
\nmy body flat on the floor. (I’m right-handed.)<\/p>\n

I found myself able to draw that way, and gave the floor manager thumbs-up.<\/p>\n

When I got up after drawing flat on the floor, I knew very well that
\n“there are upside and downside in this world”!!! I know this sounds absurd,
\nbut try such drawing yourself, and you’ll see that gravity really affects
\nour perceptions of this world!<\/p>\n
