“Angel of Earth”, Stage 2 \/ \uff08\u5730\u306e\u5929\u4f7f\uff09\u3001\u30b9\u30c6\u30fc\u30b8\uff12<\/p><\/div>\n

So, here is Stage 2 of “Angel of Earth”, Piece 3 of the four-piece Suite,
\n“Angels of the Elements”.<\/p>\n

You see, if you compare this with “just begun” shown just below,
\na painter can apply multiple layers of oil pastel over the same “support”
\n(paper, paper board, canvas, etc.), as she\/he often does with
\nsoft pastel, oil paint, acrylics, etc.<\/p>\n

Oil pastel, you see, is NOT a “kindergarten medium.” It’s something
\nan artist can use seriously.<\/p>\n

Of course, oil pastel is a “clumsy, imprecise, often coarse” medium,
\nwhich often results in “childish” works.
\nYet the painter can utilize this “childishness”, just as I am trying to do
\nin this four-piece Suite. (You know, IF I came up with some
\nseemingly “realistic” depictions of the angels of the four elements
\nin this 21st century, who would ever take them seriously??)
\nThus, oil pastel is a good medium for fantasy paintings.<\/p>\n
