Here is another croquis (quick drawing) from the September 27th session — one I made with a multi-color ball-point pen.
A BP pen is effective when you want a drawing with coarse quickness. Do not care about the fine details. What matters here is the sense of “something unusual, something urgent is happening, demolishing the existing order —-”

やはり9月27日のクロッキー（速写画）会から。こちらは、カラーボールペンでザッと描いたもの。
ボールペンは、素早く荒っぽく描いた感じを出すときには、結構使えます。細部は気にしないで、「何か、緊急な事態が発生していて、既存の秩序が崩れていく～～」感じを出すことを目指しました。

Something urgent, something falling apart —

So, another piece from the human model croquis (quick drawing) session today (Sept. 27).
This is certainly not a failure. The manager of the session said he liked it.

I prepared some randomly-painted sheets with hard oil pastel, took them to the session, and drew the model on them.

で、今日（9月27日）の人体クロッキー会からの作品をもう1つ。
これは、失敗ではありませんね。クロッキー会のマネジャーさんも、ほめていました。

予め、オイルパステルでランダムな色の紙を数枚準備しておきました。それをクロッキー会に持って行き、モデルさんを描いたわけです。

Whew, over the last week, I’ve been occupied with bead accessories and writing jobs — so, my painting has been stagnant.

Anyway, in painting and even in drawing, I’m a colorist. This means I wish to use colors even in 20-minute croquis. Today, September 27th, I joined in a human model croquis (quick drawing) session again. Right before I hit the road today, I tried whether I could make a color croquis in 20 minutes or not. I set myself to a 20-min timer, and made the rush pastel painting below.

Well, I tried — as shown below. Still I think 20 minutes is too short a time to make a decent color croquis. I think this is a failure —-  What do you say??

At least one thing I can say for sure is:
Ars longa tempus brevis!

やれやれ、この1週間、ビーズアクセサリーとライティングに追われていたので、絵画が遅れてしまいました。

とにかく、絵画では私はカラーリストです。つまり、たとえ20分間のクロッキー（速写画）であっても、色を使いたがるのですね。今日9月27日も、人体クロッキーの会に参加しました。そこで出かける直前に、果たして20分でカラークロッキーを描けるものかどうか、やってみました。時計で20分を図りながら、大急ぎで描いてみたのが、下の例です。

まあ、やるだけやってみたのですが、やはり20分というのはマトモなカラークロッキーを描くには、短すぎるようです。このクロッキーは、失敗だったと私は思います。みなさんは、どうご覧になりますか？

少なくても1つ、確かに言えることは：
Ars longa tempus brevis!

20 minutes is too short to make something decent — ars longa tempus brevis!

If you remember, actually I posted this here last year.
Now, I’ve got an order for a green cross similar to that one.
Due to a problem with beads availability, I had to use a smaller green one at the center.
Still, this is very similar to the one I showed you last year.
Next week, I’ll make three chains of beads and braid them together, to hand this cross.

覚えてらっしゃれば、昨年、似たようなグリーンのクロスをここで発表しております。
それと同じようなグリーンのクロスのご注文を頂きました。
ビーズの入手という問題があって、中央のグリーンのビーズ、少し小さいものを使うしか選択がありませんでした。それでも、昨年発表したクロスとかなり似ています。
来週、ビーズのチェーンを3本作ってブレイドし、それにこのクロスをぶら下げます。

9月6日に描いた20分クロッキー（速写画）に、パステルで色を付けました。これについては、これ以上の説明は不要だし、ないほうが良いでしょう。

Front-tied necklaces are rare, but I tell you, there are always some people in need of them – for instance, those unable to bring their own hands behind the neck for an injury, those whose hands do not work well behind the neck, and so on. A believer in universal designs, I have tried and made some front-tied necklaces. Shown below is the latest test model of a front-tied rosary. I know its color combination is really absurd, but this is a test model of a front-tying mechanism. The absurd combination of brilliant pink and colorless seed beads makes the mechanism easy to see!
前で留めるネックレスは珍しいですね。でも実際のところ、いつでも需要はあります。たとえば、何らかの怪我などのため、両手を首の後ろに持ってこれない皆さん、あるいは首の後ろでは手がうまく動かない皆さん。ユニバーサル デザインを信奉する私は、すでに何度か前で留めるネックレスをデザインし、作ってきました。下の写真は、その最近のテスト モデルで、前で留めるロザリオです。この色の組み合わせがバカゲテいるのは、承知の上です。これは前で留めるメカニズムのテスト モデルなので、それが分かりやすいように、故意に異常な色の組み合わせにしてあります。

Bring the colorless loop onto the butterfly. Then, move the butterfly through the loop, so that the loop holds it on the back, as shown in the two photos below.
In the upper photo, the loop holds the right half of the butterfly. Then, broaden the loop and make the left half of the loop come to the butterfly’s back. In the lower photo, the loop is already on the back of the butterfly and not easy to see. Sorry!

透明な「輪」をチョウのところに持ってきます。そして、チョウをその輪に通して、輪がチョウを後ろでホールドするようにします。その様子を、下の2つの写真で示しますね。
上の写真では、輪がチョウの右半分をホールドしていますね。ここで輪の幅を広げて、チョウの左半分をくぐらせます。すると、輪がチョウの背後でチョウをホールドするはずです。下の写真では、すでに輪はチョウの背後にきています。なので、見づらいですね。

Someone asked me about a rosary, and she has a problem with clasps on the back of the neck!
Since this is a custom-made beading workshop, I’m happy to work on, and even “invent,” some front-tying mechanisms!
Yet before showing you such mechanisms, here is a cross I just made —
The real thing is around 4.7cm (1.9″) vertically.

ある方からロザリオのお問い合わせをいただきました。その方は、首の後ろの留め金が扱いにくいそうです。
ここはオーダーメイドのビーズ アトリエですので、身体の前で留めるメカニズムの「発明」や制作にも、喜んで取り組んでおります！
で、今日のところは、そのメカニズムを紹介する前に、まずビーズのクロスを。。
実物の縦の全長は、およそ4.7㎝です。

The model did a good job in creating the sense of “unknown anxieties” in her pose, and I thought some ball-point pen scratches are effective in representing it.

モデルさんが巧みに、「得体のしれない不安」をポーズで表してくださいました。それを表すには、ボールペンのランダムな線がよく合うと思ったのです。

B-point pen scratches can create uncertainty and anxieties

I’ve been to a human drawing session in my neighborhood again.
This time, I had some “prepared sheets” — sheets with some water colors or “diluted oil pastel” on it.
Then, in 20 minutes I drew each pose on a “prepared sheet.” Here is one of them.

You see, the model voluntarily tortured her own right arm for 20 minutes — if you don’t know what I’m talking about, try the same pose on yourself for, say, only 5 minutes!!
The incredible endurance and arm pain of the model spoke to me like a knife edge, and I decided to depict her pain, that ran ceaselessly for the 20 minutes —-

また、近所の人体クロッキー会に行ってきました。
今回は、単なるクロッキー用紙だけでなく、「プリペアード シート」を何枚か持って行ったのです。つまり、水彩あるいは「油で溶かしたクレパス」をあらかじめ塗っておいたシートですね。
そしてやはり、各ポーズを20分ずつで描きました。その1枚です。

ご覧のように、このモデルさん、ご自分の意志で腕を拷問にかけるようなポーズを取られました。なぜ拷問なのか分からない方は、試しに同じポーズを5分でいいからやってみてください～
このモデルさん、信じられないほどの忍耐をしてくださったはずです。腕がかなり痛かったはずで、その苦痛がナイフの刃のように私にも伝わってきました。そこで、私はその苦痛を何とかクロッキー（速写画）にしようとしたのです。20分間の休みない苦痛。。。

Shown here is the same T-shirt after two more layers of dyes. Now, it’s ready for putting the message in, I think.

下で8月27日、NO WARメッセージTシャツの「染め第1層」を投稿しました。
ここにあるのは、さらに2つの層を重ねたもの。そろそろ、メッセージを書き込んでもよさそうですね。
