This is an experiment of dyeing with “imprimatura” — in the case of clothes dyeing, I mean dyeing colored clothes. I’m currently dyeing an ivory-colored shirt.<\/p>\n

\nIf you are a painter, you might use some “imprimatura” in your paintings. Yes, I’m talking about the “tinted priming” you make in the beginning. Then, you apply layers of paints on it.
\nWhen painting on paper or canvas, my palette usually carries some bright colors and not many “earth ones.” For instance, I love priming with lovely rose and bright lemon yellow and white arranged in an “informel” way. Then, when the priming dries, I apply a layer of, say, very transparent ultramarine, to enjoy the “depth and clarity” that result.
\nSo, this ivory-colored shirt has posed a challenge to me, in two senses:
\n1) Dyeing clothes with, in a way, “imprimatura”
\n2) Using earth colors
\nSo, let’s see what comes out, after all the dyeing is done —<\/p>\n
