\u03b5\u03b9\u03ba\u03c9\u03bd\u03bf\u03ba\u03bb\u03b1\u03c3\u03bc\u03b1 (iconoclasm) is within the contemporary vocabulary. But looking into the original Greek, we see this is an attitude and action with icons, which were to venerated, as the Nicaea II determined.
\nNow, this means icons are to be separated from \u03b5\u03b9\u03b4\u03c9\u03bb\u03bf\u03bd (eidolon, idol). So, I coined a new term, \u03b5\u03b9\u03b4\u03c9\u03bb\u03bf\u03ba\u03bb\u03b1\u03c3\u03bc\u03b1, to indicate “idols that are truly idols”. Such idols are not images or pictures, but are constructs of the mind, for instance worship of an organization, status, wealth, etc.<\/p>\n

Depictions of such idols require, by their very nature, some “abstract” renditions.<\/p>\n

Here’s a pencil scratch for a new work, “\u03b5\u03b9\u03b4\u03c9\u03bb\u03bf\u03ba\u03bb\u03b1\u03c3\u03bc\u03b1” (eidoloklasma, idol destruction).<\/p>\n
