Many Japanese residents have the custom of sending New Year greeting cards. Here’s one I’ve created overnight, on commission from a friend. 友人からの依頼で作成した年賀状です。  

This exercise of automatism is done — honestly, I do not know how to proceed. This is a problem with automatism. このオートマティズムの練習、これで終わります。 というか、進め方が分からなくなってきました。 これが、オートマティズムの問題点の1つですね。  

I’ve just begun painting on the scratch shown way below on Dec. 20. It’s only the beginning. ずっと下の12月20日に紹介したスクラッチに描き始めました。 まだ、描き始めたところです。

I’ve started over this. Inspired by a 1970s pop song titled “Who do you think you are” (Jigsaw version) これ、やり直してます。 1970年代のポップソングからの着想です。 (Jigsaw バージョン）    

Just a pencil scratch — for a new painting まだ、スクラッチです。これから描く新作のための。  

Here’s Stage 2. It’s still in progress. The real thing has a lot smoother color gradations, but my scanner fails to reproduce them. こちらがステージ２。まだ制作は進行中。 実物はもっと色彩のグラデーションが滑らかなのですが、 スキャナーがうまく捉えてくれません。
