So, crayons (wax pastels) can create really lovely colors, as shown just below.
Then, how usable are they?
I experimented with “Crayola(R)”, probably the most famous brand among wax pastels, to see if I could make smooth color gradations with it.
Alas, as you see below, it is quite hard to create smooth color gradations.
So, I gave up on using crayons in “gentle, smooth” paintings.
Instead, I’ll use them in “coarse, wild” works.

じゃあ、どこまで実際に使えるのでしょうか？
そこで、おそらくはクレヨンの各ブランドの中でもっとも良く知られたブランドである
「Crayola(R)」を使って、滑らかな色のグラデーションができるか否かを実験してみました。
おやま、下でご覧のとおり、スムーズなグラデーションを作るのは大変難しかったです。
そういうわけで、クレヨンを「滑らかで、穏やかな」作品に使うのは、諦めました。
クレヨンは、「荒っぽく、はげしい」作品に使うことにしました。
