Just see how the “Sanguine Domini” T-shirt, shown below on July 27th, looks on a torso —

すぐ下の7月27日にお見せした “Sanguine Domini” のTシャツ、トルソーに着せてみました。

So, below on July 23rd, I added red dye to the black-dyed T-shirt.
After it dried, I did some hand-painting on it, on both the front and back.
The paints contained some glitters.

The red dye made me think of blood, while the rampant allover dyed images looked like some heavy metal bands’ albums.
So, I ascribed the T-shirt to an imaginary Christian metal band, “Sanguine Domini”, and
painted a chalice and roses —-

Since the fabric paints contained some glitters, they reflect light and
were hard to photograph — so, I had to photograph the shirt at two different angles,
for each of the front and the back.

下の7月23日の染めたTシャツですが、赤を加えると血のような感触が。
それで、Sanguine Domini（主の血）という架空のChristian metal bandのTシャツという想定で、
ハンドペイントを施し、完成しました。

ペイント用塗料にラメが入っていて、光を反射するので、写真撮影が大変難しかったです。
やむなく、オモテ・ウラともにそれぞれ、少し角度を変えた写真も示しますね。

Literally, it looks “bloody”.

I think I’ll name it “Where Horizons Meet” —

We are experiencing a murderous heat spell over here in Tokyo, and I’m busy at work on a writing job —  <” (>_< ;;)
I’m barefooted right now, to alleviate the killing heat —
After I’m done with this writing job, I’ll start working on a new painting.
So, for today, allow me to show you just a “barefoot” —

Basically, the prices of all the paintings shown here are without framing.

However, IN CASE you want me to do the framing as well, I can do it and send you a framed painting. In such a case, please let me know the frame color / style you want. I’ll look for the least expensive frame available that meets your specs.
In many such cases, I apply some colors to the mat as well, to make the mat look somehow like part of the painting. This is where my framing differs from what most framers do.

For instance, the left below is a croquis I made back in the mid-1990s.
Recently, I framed it and handed it down to a customer.
As you see, I applied some colors to the mat. (below right)

最近、額装をしてお客様に納品しました。
ご覧のとおり、マットにも着色しました。（下の右）

So (Please see the July 14 post below), I applied another layer of the same black dye to the T-shirt, and see how it looked after drying.

Now, I can move on to another color —

そんなわけで（下の7月14日の投稿をご覧くださいな）、同じ黒の染料をもう１層加えました。
乾いた後で、こんな感じになりました。

これで、次の色に進めますね。

I wanted to dye a T-shirt that’s “Christian and heavy metal” so I began the work as shown in the first two photos below — front and top.

Now, one problem in dyeing is that the dyes can change their hues / color values as they dry up. Just see the third photo below — the black dye “watered down” once it dried.

So, I had to apply another layer of the same black dye, whose results are to be shown later.

「クリスチャンでへヴィーメタルな」感じのTシャツを染めたかったので、下の最初の2枚の写真にあるように、染めを開始しました。それぞれ、前面と背面です。

で、染めでよく起きる問題の1つとして、染料は乾くと色合いやヴァリューが変わる場合がよくあります。下の3枚目の写真をご覧くださいませ。黒の染料が、乾くと「薄まって」しまいました。

そこで、同じ黒い染料の層をもう1つ加えないといけません。それでどうなったかは、また次回お見せしますね。
