I paint on clothes as well.
Here, I just began painting a gold finch on a winter shirt.
As you know, the bird appears in a folk legend as a lovely li’l
creature that plugged some agonizing thorns out of Jesus’ head
at his Passion.
Though just a folk lore, it stands for alleviation of pain for
people in suffering.
The Greek, “akantha”, means thorns.
The work goes on.

よく知られた民間伝承では、このかわいい子鳥さんが、ご受難のときにイエスの頭からイバラの棘を抜いてくれたそうです。
確かに単なる民間の言い伝えにすぎませんが、苦しむ方々の苦痛を緩和する、というメッセージが明らかですよね。
ギリシャ語 “akantha” は「イバラ」
