I had an occasion to send a friend a thanks card,
so I made this painting on a postcard.

“Flower’s Call”, initial scratch (scanner-sized pointillism)

Another pen pointillism designed for minimum color
deterioration when photographed.
Usually, scanning produces less color deterioration than
photographing, and pen pointillism usually is resistant to
color deterioration in reproduction.

So, here’s the initial scratch for another scanner-sized
pen pointillism.

I’ve been working on two new experimental paintings,
both of the “scanner size” (A4, 297 x 210mm [11.7″ x 8.27″]).

Why is the size??
Numerous NFT dealers have so far asked me to provide them
with NFTs of my paintings, and so far I have refused. Why?

My artworks are all painted with my own hands,
Naturally, to mint them into NFTs, one has to photograph
them first. Now, photographing a painting inevitably
deteriorates its colors. No camera is able to capture the
“true colors” of a painting.
And I consider myself as a “colorist” painter, who by definition
hates such color deterioration.

So, I’m looking for a way out — a way to minimize color deterioration.
– Generally, a scanned image of a painting contains less
color deterioration than a photographed image does.
– Among many painting media and styles, pen-on-paper
pointillism seems to suffer little color deterioration, when
scanned. (’cause it consists of simple “pen dots” of many
different colors).

So, now I’ve begun working on
pen-pointillism paintings meant for scanning.
Naturally, their size is 297 x 210mm (11.7″ x 8.27″).

I’ve started creating two “scanner-sized pen pointillism”
works in this experimment.
The first motifs are flowers and nudes.

When the works come out, I’ll ask some NFT dealers
if the works are “competent” in the NFT market.

Here is the initial scratch for the “flower” piece.

“Emergency Summer Series”, No. 15 (last) / 「あぶない夏シリーズ」、No. 15 (ラスト)

Looks like today (Aug. 20) is the last of the current
murderous heat of Tokyo.
To conclude the series, this is a very clumsy exercise
with soft pastel from 2015, but
the model carries a smile of comfort.

Friends, I wish you a happy and pleasant autumn!!

どうも、今回の殺人的熱波は、今日(8月20日)で

“Emergency Summer Series”, No. 14 / 「あぶない夏シリーズ」、No. 14

Tonight, it’s a lot cooler but the cause is a big typhoon, which
is expected to expose us 38 C (100.4 F) tomorrow.
So, this Series continues —

This is another exercise in pointillism, but I’ve titled it
“Marging with the Light”.
Still, it’s an exercise and not for sale.

今夜はかなり気温が下がったのですが、その原因が
大型台風なのです~~ その同じ台風が、明日は
気温を 38 C まで上げてしまう予報なのですよ。
やむなく、このシリーズは続きます。

これも点描の練習なのですが、Marging with the Light
というタイトルを付けました。
それでも、あくまで練習ですから、非売品です。
