So, this series has to continue.
This is another exercise of pointillism.

Right now, it’s almost 7pm JST here in Tokyo, and the
temperature is still 33 C (91.4 F).
The heat goes on, so does this series that carries prayers for everybody’s safety and survival —

This is just a 20-min croquis from 2015,
drawn with oil pastel, which as you know is a
very clumsy medium.
Yet clumsiness often implies some charm,
I think.

現時点で東京はほぼ午後7時なのに、気温はまだ
33 C。
熱波は続き、したがって危険な熱の中で皆様の
無事と生存を祈る本シリーズも続きます。
これで No. 12。

こちらは、単なる20分クロッキー。2015年。
オイルパステル（クレパスとも）という、
大変不器用なことで知られる画材で
描いています。

でも、その不器用さがどこか魅力になる
場合もあると思うのですが。

And tomorrow, it is predicted to be worse —

現時点で、東京は34 Cの高熱にのたうち回っております。
明日は、さらに悪化するとのこと ・・・

この殺人的な暑さが早く終わることを祈りつつ、
「あぶない夏シリーズ」の No. 11 です。
なんということもない、ただの人体デッサン。
紙に鉛筆。1994年かな？

The heat is still here —
So, here’s No. 10 of the Series that carries a prayer
for safety and health of the people suffering amid
the heat.

I found the very first oil painting I made, back in
1988.
Looking at it, I see I was just trying to get to know
“the ropes” of oil painting. I never tried oil before this.

熱波が収まりません～～
熱波の中で生きる我々の安全と無事を祈りつつ
紹介している本シリーズ、No. 10になります。

私が初めて描いた油彩画がこれで、1988年のもの。
見ていると、要するに油絵具の使い方をあれこれ
学ぼうとしていた、単にそんな絵ですね。これ以前
には、私は油絵具を触ったことがなかったので。

私が初めて描いた油彩画、1988、カンヴァスに油彩
部屋の照明が、上部に反射されちゃってますね。

With more than a hundred people killed by heat strokes
nationwide, the heat is still here!

Here’s No. 9 of the Emergency Summer Series.
I sure hope I can terminate this series soon, i.e.,
the heat will leave us right away!!

日本国内だけで100名を超える方々が熱中症などで
他界されているというのに、熱波はいつになったら
去ってくれるのでしょうか？？

「あぶない夏シリーズ」も、No. 9になってしまいました！
早く終わらせたい ・・ つまり、早くこの暑さが終わって
ほしい！

The heat. is still on!
So, here’s No.7 of the Series.
I began with the 20-min croquis, pencil on paper,
shown just below, and developed it into the
pastel-on-paper work.
From way back 2016.

暑さは相変わらず！
そこで、このシリーズの No. 7 です。
すぐ下の20分クロッキー（紙に鉛筆）を
もとに、それをパステルの絵にしました。
2016年のもの。

It’s a very old drawing, pencil on paper, I found in an old file.
I think I made it some time way back in the early 1990s.

アブナイ熱波がまだ東京にしっかりと留まっているので、
“Emergency Summer Series ” の No. 6を。
古いファイルの中に見つけた大変古いデッサンで、
紙に鉛筆。
1990年代初期のいつごろかに描いたものだと思います。

Naturally, the end result shown below is really coarse.
Yet did I let the coarseness speak something??

せん滅的な熱波は今日も東京にとどまっており～～
仕方なく、「あぶない夏シリーズ」のNo. 5

20分クロッキー、オイルパステルという「荒っぽい」画材です。
当然、下に紹介している結果も、実に荒っぽいですよね。
で、私は果たして、その「荒っぽさ」によって何かを
語っていますでしょうかね？？
