Just priming for a new painting / 新しい絵画のための地塗りです
Ha, ha, this is just the priming (undercoating), in tempera,
for a new oil pastel painting. Such priming is necessary to
prevent the oil contained in the oil pastel from intruding into the
“support” (the paperboard, in this case).
So, after this priming dries up, what am I going to paint
on the tempera layers??

いやまあ、これは新しいオイルパステル絵画のための
「地塗り」なのです。この地塗りはテンペラですね。
オイルパステルに含まれる油分がサポート（この場合なら、
イラストボード）に浸みこんでいかないよう、地塗りをするわけです。
つまりこの地塗りが乾いたら、その上にオイルパステルで何かを描いて
いくわけですが、それが何かは、この絵画の次の投稿をお待ちくださいませ。
それは、「トーラー」（日本でいう旧約聖書）の「申命記 ８：３」に関するものです。
