“Uncontrollable” wax pastel / 誰にも制御できないクレヨン
On January 12 (today), I joined a croquis session again.
As always, 20 minutes x 6 poses.
Now, I experimented with a very uncontrollable drawing medium, shown below.
As you see, these pieces of wax pastel are made of pigments of different colors here and there, positioned randomly.
Thus, you never know what colors and shapes actually result until you actually
apply them on paper!!
I don’t know who invented such a freaked medium, but when it
is an experiment, it is worth a try.
You see, I do not join croquis sessions to make some fine drawings.
Rather, I try experiments.
You know, if you want to make a decent drawing, you can
join a longer-time session.
So, what were the end results of today’s “uncontrollable” experiment??

本日、1月12日、またクロッキー会に行ってきました。
いつもどおり、20分 x 6ポーズでした。
今日は、まったく制御不能な画材で実験しました。
下の写真にある通り、ワックスパステルなのですが、色の異なる顔料を
ランダムに配置してあるのです！
ですから、実際に紙に塗ってみるまで、どのような色がどのように現れるのか、
誰にもわからないのですよ～～
こんなイカレタ画材を、誰が発明したのか、私は存じません。
ただ、実験をするのには実に面白い画材です！
つまり。私がクロッキー会に行くのは、何か立派なクロッキーを描こうと思ってのことじゃ、
ありません。そうじゃなくて、アレコレ実験をしたいのですね。
きれいなデッサンを描きたいのなら、クロッキーじゃなくてもっと時間の長い
デッサン会に出れば良いことでして。
で、この制御不能な画材を使ってみた結果は？？
