Here in Japan, we still have a customm of exchanging greeting cards
at the beginning of a year.
Known as “nenga-jo” (lit. “new year greeting card”),
a certain friend sent me a “traditional” slug mail card.
So, I created this reply card, which features the delphinium,
a flower selected by a gardening organization as the
flower of 2026 CE.

返信のため このカードを作成して郵送しました。
あるガーデニング団体が2026年の花としてデルフィニウムを
選んだことを受けております。花言葉は、「清明」

Below, I said I had to work on 11 cartoons and illustrations,
but it turned out that I need more explanatory cartoons, and
now the count is 13.

Shown just below is an example of an explanatory illustration
(still in pencil) of a reactor’s “criticality.” Sorry, this is to
appear in a Japanese anti-nuke website and
the words are all Japanese.

It’s nothing artistic — please wait until I’m done with the 13
and can resume posts of my “art”works.

下の投稿ではマンガや説明図を11枚と言っていたのですが、
さらに説明図が必要になり、13枚に増えました。

この下にあるのはその説明図の一例。まだ、鉛筆段階です。
原子炉の「臨界」とは何かを説明するもの。ある日本語の
ウェブサイトに掲載予定です。

まったく「芸術性」なんてないですよね。
これが終わったら、また私の「アートワーク」を
紹介してまいりますので、それまでお待ちくださいな。

The Anglican Communion in Japan has been running an anti-nuke project, and I’m asked to create a series of articles on
“Gen III and IV” reactors.

The series features a lot of cartoons and illustrations, and
right now I’m working on 11 of such cartoons!

When I’m done with the 11, I’ll resume my regular posting here.

日本聖公会さんでは以前から、「原発問題プロジェクト」なる活動を
展開してらっしゃいます。
で、私もそれに協力、「Gen III とIV」原子炉に関する連載を作成することになりました。

この連載では多数の説明図やマンガを使うので、今もマンガ11枚を作成中です。

その11枚が終わったら、いつものここでの投稿を再開しますね。
