Onto the next clothes painting —
Here, I’m working on a flower called “dianthus”, known to inhabit
the European Alps.

こちらは、「ディアンソス」というヨーロッパ アルプスなどに咲く花を
描いているところ。

Here is the back side of the dyed and painted shirt shown just below.
The figure is a personification of the air / wind.
Some recognize it as Raphael, traditionally the angel of the wind.
Yet the recognition is up to each of you.

Now, onto the next piece —

すぐ下で紹介した、染めてペイントしたシャツの背面です。
人物のようなものは、風／空気の擬人化です。
人によっては、伝統的に「風の天使」とされていたラファエルと
ご覧になるようですね。
でも、どう見るかは各人のご自由です。

では、私は次の作に。

Front, done / おもて面、完成

I wrote an ancient Greek proverb on the front.
“To pneuma hopou thelei pnei”
“The wind blows where it wills.”

Now, I’ll work on the back.

おもて側には、古代ギリシャの諺を記しました。
「To pneuma hopou thelei pnei」
「風は思いのままに吹く」

これから、背中側に何かペイントします。

Based on Croquis Cafe 366, still in progress / Croquis Cafe 366 に基づく、まだ進行中　　

I used to join life drawing sessions, but since the current pandemic set in,
I’ve been unable to. As some of you know well, a life drawing session venue is
often overcrowded.
This means over the last two years, I have been practicing life drawing only
infrequently.
So, I had to settle for a second best — using Croquis Cafe.

Here is a “painting from a video scene” in progress.

However, 2D –> 2D drawing / painting is simply that — 2D, after all.
Watching a 3D model and turning it into 2D is a very different experience.

Honestly, I wish for an early calm-down of the current pandemic, so I can
get back to life drawing sessions!

以前には私は、実物モデル差案のクロッキー会やデッサン会に通っておりました。
でも現在のパンデミックが始まってから、参加できずにおります。皆様の中にも
ご存じの方々がいらっしゃるでしょうが。モデルさんクロッキー会の類は、
会場が混みあうのですね。
そのためこの2年間ほど、立体のデッサンなどは、あまり頻繁にできておりません。
やむなく次善の方法として、Croquis Cafeを利用しています。

その、「動画の1シーンからの描画」の例がこれで、まだ制作進行中です。

でも、やはり2次元 ⇒ 2次元は結局、2次元ですね。
3次元のモデルさんを見ながら描くのとは、かなり異なります。

正直、早く現在のパンデミックが落ち着いてほしいです。また
クロッキー会やデッサン会に参加したいので。

After applying some fixative and hand-wash the dyed shirt,
I hang it for air-drying.
Now, it’s dry and — you see, the dyes’ colors have “calmed down”
once they have dried.
This is one of the challenges I face in dyeing. It’s also a lot of fun too!

Now, I’ll paint something on this!

定着剤と手洗いを施してから、シャツをつるして空気乾燥させます。
乾燥すると、ご覧の通り染料の色が「落ち着き」ますよね。
これは染めることの難点の1つであるとともに、面白い点でもあります。

では、これからこのシャツに何かペイントします。

What!? Am I ruining an old white shirt??
This time, I wanted to try some quite “avant-garde” dyeing.

Also, when the dyes dry, their hues change.
So, just wait till I post an image of how the shirt looks once it has dried.
Then, I’ll paint something on it.

なんだこりゃ？古い白のシャツをぶっ壊してるのか？？
今回は、かなり「アヴァンギャルドな：染を試してみたかったのですね。

それに、染料が乾くと、色合いがかなり変わります。
ですから、乾いた状態の画像をアップロードするのを、お待ちくださいませ。
そのうえで、何かペイントします。
