An intentionally “childish” depiction of Acts 2: 1-4 / 使徒言行録 2：1－4 の、「意図的に子供の絵のような」表現
So, here my depiction of Acts 2: 1-4 is done.
I honestly experienced some phenomena like this before,
and if an outsider coincidentally witnessed any of them,
he/she would have thought it was a collective panic or something!
(I Cor. 14: 23)
So, I intended this depiction to be “naive and childish” — the essence
of such a phenomenon is not the behaviors of the “recipients of the fire”,
but the “dwelling of the fire”, i.e., “dwelling of the Spirit”.
I think a child-like depiction invites the viewers’ attention to that
essence more effectively than can a “realistic” depiction, which
tends to attract viewers’ attention to the painted details.

正直、似たような現象を私も以前に体験しているのですが、
外からふらっと誰かが入ってきたら、集団パニックか何かと
誤解されたことでしょう。
（第一コリント 14：23）
ですから、この作品は意図的に「子供の絵のような」感じにしています。
こうした現象の本質は、その人たちの行動にあるんじゃなくて、
「炎が宿った」つまり「スピリットの内在」にあるのです。
それに気づいてもらうには、いわゆる「リアルな」描き方にするよりも、
「子供ぽい」描写にした方が効果的だと考えるので。いわゆる「リアリズム」
だと、描かれているディテールに注意が向かってしまいやすいのですね。

This is my depiction of the “baptism of fire” described in Acts 2: 1 – 4.
It’s only just begun, and the work goes on.
* I intend this painting to be “child-like”, i.e., a kind you expect
from an elementary kid. Why?
I have in reality experienced phenomena like the portion of Acts
in question, and I know that if I “realistically” depicted them,
you’d simply think the people in the painting are going crazy!

A “childish” depiction, on the contrary, can present the essence —
the Spirit — on the front, I think.

描き始めで、まだ制作は続きます。
* この作品は意図的に「子供ぽく」描きますね。小学生の絵みたいに。なぜ？
この使徒言行録の記述のような現場を私は現実に体験していて、そうした
現場を「写実的に」描いてしまうと、描かれた人たちが「おかしく」なっている
としか思えないということが、分かっているのですね。

そうではなく「子供ぽく」描けば、ことの本質である「聖霊の働き」を
前面に出しやすいと思うわけです。
