“Flower of the Day”, done / （昼の花）、完成

I went through Stages 2 and 3, but here on this website
allow me to skip to the finish!

Piece 2 of the Suite, “Flowers of Hours” —
a four-piece suite of imaginary flowers that
come into blossom during their own hours of the day.

Such a world may not need machine clocks, since
you can tell the time simply by looking at flowers in blossom.
Besides, when the sun is too strong, these flowers of the day
floating in the sky will multiply to keep you cool in their shade.
Then, they give way to the flowers of the sunset —

It might be a world way more relaxing and easy-going than ours!

完成に至る前に、実はステージ２と３があったのですが、
このウェブサイトでは割愛して、完成段階を紹介させてください。

4連作 “Flowers of Hours” （時の花）のピース２、
Flower of the Day（昼の花）です。
この4連作は、1日のうち決まった時間帯に咲く想像上の花
ばかりを描いたもの。

そんな世界があれば、どの花がどれだけ咲いているかを見れば
時刻が分かるので、機械時計はいらないかも。
しかも、日の光が強すぎるときには花が増殖して「花影」に
私たちを入れてくれるので、涼しくしていられます。
そして日没が近づくと、「日没の花」に舞台を譲るのです。

Another 20-min experiment with ball-point pens / ボールペンでの20分実験、もう1つ

One more of the 20-min croquis experiments with ball-point pens
of five colors I tried at the croquis session of Feb. 23.

Please keep a good distance between your eyes and the PC / smartphone
screen they are watching. At a close look, the ball-point pen lines can
be disturbing. From a good distance, the image should look like a croquis.

2月23日のクロッキー会からの、5色のボールペンによるクロッキー実験、
もう１枚。

PCなりスマートフォンなりの画面とあなたの目の間に、充分な距離を
保ってくださいませ。近くで見ると、ボールペンの線が乱暴に見えると思います。
距離を保ってくだされば、クロッキーらしく見えるはず。

The flowers are imaginary — they are flying around in the
midday sunshine.

Just a 20-min croquis with BP pens of five colors / 単なる20分クロッキー、5色のボールペンで

Just a 20-minute croquis from a croquis session of February 23.
(As usual, 20 minutes x 6 poses)

I drew the outline with a pink BP pen, and “painted” the whole body with
the same pink.
Then, I did the shading with a blue BP pen, the hair with a black one,
and added some red and yellow portions.

Usually, at a croquis session, I read the model’s atmosphere and
draw accordingly, but in this one, I just experimented with BP pens.

単なる、20分クロッキーです。2月23日のクロッキー会から。
（いつもどおり、20分 x 6ポーズ）

まずピンクのボールペンで輪郭を描き、身体を同じピンクで「塗り」ました。
それから青のボールペンでシェーディングを施し、髪は黒で描き、
赤と黄色の箇所を加えたのです。

クロッキー会では通常、私はモデルさんの雰囲気を探り、それに
合わせた描き方をするのですが、今回はボールペンでの実験描画と
いうことで割り切りました。

Honestly, this went through Stages 2 and 3, but allow me to skip them here
and show the finished state.

Of course, this is an imaginary flower that proclaims the dawn and then
“rests” until the next dawn. Of course, my intention was to present some
“joint work” between the astronomical sphere and lives on earth.

正直なところ、完成するまでにステージ 2と3 がありました。
でもここでは、それらを省略して完成状態を紹介しますね。

無論これは想像上の花で、夜明けを告げ知らせ、それから
次の夜明けまで「休み」ます。もちろん私の意図としては、
天空と地上の生命体との間の「協働」を描きたかったのですね。

These “enigmatic vertical bars of dark brown” are what I’ve added.

I seem to like suites or series of paintings, and I am working on a new 4-piece suite,
titled “Flowers of Hours”.

Here is Stage 1 (just begun) of Piece 1 of that Suite — “Flower of the Dawn”.

You know, we see “flowers of the seasons” — dandelions of spring, sunflowers of summer, and —-.
Now, I imagined a world where every major part of a day has its flowers.
Flowers of the dawn, of the day, of the sunset, and of the night.

どうも私は連作絵画が好きなようで、新しい４連作の制作を始めました。
“Flowers of Hours”（時の花）というタイトルです。

「季節の花」というものには、我々は慣れています。春のタンポポとか、
夏のヒマワリとか。
そこで私は、1日の内の主な時間帯ごとに違う花が咲く世界を想像しました。
夜明けの花、昼の花、日没の花、夜の花ですね。

I know the angel’s left hand is disproportionately large —
you know, to control air, the hand should be large and powerful!

天使の左手が比例を外れて大きいことは、分かっています。
風をコントロールするなら、強力で大きな手が必要ですからね。

Actually, no.

私の安物のカメラではこの１枚の絵画の全体を捉えられなかったので、
左側と右側（中央は重なっています）の2枚で紹介しますね。
これでこの油彩画（テンペラを併用）は完成か?と思われる方も、いらっしゃるかも。
実は、まだ制作は続きます。

これからどうなるのかは、今後の私の投稿をお待ちくださいませ。
これはあくまで「空想上の風景」ですので、さらに「空想上の」何かを
加えます。
