An “over-100F” week again over here in Tokyo —
At a temperature like this, I cannot concentrate
on my “pastel/pen and paper” —
So, I just turn on my fan and lie down, with
a croquis book and a pencil in my hands,
and I work on pencil scratches.

Currently, I am struggling with some scratches of
this new work, to be titled “Out of Gravity” —
— just wait till I come up with one I like.

「38C の週」が今週も続いている、この東京。
この気温では、「パステルと紙」に集中できません。
そこで、扇風機をオンにして寝っ転がり、
クロッキーブックと鉛筆を手に
スクラッチに取り組みます。

今のところ、新しい作品のスクラッチ数種類で
苦戦しております。Out of Gravity（重力から
解き放たれて）というタイトルにする予定の新作です。
気に入ったスクラッチができるまで、お待ちくださいな。

It’s not whether or not I like summer or heat.
The ongoing heat here in Tokyo is literally
killing some of the metropolis’ residents.
I hear ambulances very often, during the
afternoon until the sunset.

How can I keep working on days like this??
No wonder I just cannot concentrate, while
the heat is ruining my nerves.

So, I just lay myself down and take a croquis
book, and work on scratches for future paintings.

Here are two of such scratches I made yesterday.

Here, I’ve begun working on this.
The killer heat of Tokyo is hampering everything I do,
currently. So, allow me some days before I make my next post here.

この作品、制作を始めました。
現在、東京は殺人的な暑さで、物事が順調に進みません。
そのため、次回の投稿をするまで、しばし日数をくださいませ。

“Sopranist”, Stage 1 / ステージ１

As you know, many hydrangeas are toxic,
but scientists have yet to identify where
the toxins come from or what these toxins are.
In a way, lovely hydrangeas are deceptive —

So, I paint them in the “fantasy” format.

ご存じの通り、アジサイの多くには毒が
あります。でも科学者たちもまだ、
その毒素が何なのか・どの部位にあるのか、
特定できずにいるようです。
麗しいアジサイは、その意味で欺く植物
なのですね。

だから私は、アジサイは一種の「ファンタシー」
として描くわけです。

Over here in Tokyo, we’ve been suffering from a
heat spell, with the daily highs reaching almost 100F.
In addition, I’ve been busy with my other website,
an anti-nuke site written in Jp. As you know, so many
incidents lately at Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, Iran, Gaza,
as well as over the Genkai NPP of Kyushu.

These things have been hampering me from
updating this painting website. Sorry!

東京では暑さが殺人的で、３７度前後にまで
最高気温が達しています。
加えて、このところ世界各地で核関係の事件が多く、
私のもう１つのウェブサイトの更新で多忙です。
ウクライナのザポリージャ、イラン、ガザ、
そして先日の玄海原発の件など。。。

そんなわけで、こちらの絵画サイトの更新が
遅れております。
