“Out of Gravity”
Needs more trials and errors.

さらなる試行錯誤が必要ですね。

OK, this pencil scratch does look miserable — simply because
it is part of a process of trials and errors.
I make many pencil scratches before I begin coloring.

In the case of this pencil scratch here, I liked the
model’s pose since it suggested something like “coming
out of the ground”.
Yet I definitely need to work on it more, to
present the sense of “springing up” a lot more.

こちらはまだ鉛筆スクラッチなのですが、まったく
ヒドイ状態ですよね。試行錯誤の過程の一部なので。
私は、色での作業を始める前に、こうした鉛筆
スクラッチを多数作成します。

このスクラッチの場合、モデルさんのポーズは
気に入ったのです。「大地から出てくる」という
感触があったので。
でも、もっと鉛筆スクラッチを作成することに
なりますね。「生え出る」という感じをもっと
出さないと。

今、その続編の制作を始めました。

Still, I’m busy with my other website, an anti-nuke project targeted at Jp readers.
I just uploaded a new webpage to it, and shown here is a
cartoon I created for it.
Now, I have to create yet another new page —

Clockwise from bottom left:

まだ、私のもう1つのウェブサイト、つまり日本語読者を
対象にした反核サイトの方で多忙です。
先ほど、新たなページをアップロードしました。
下は、そのページ用の漫画の１つ。

ただ、もう１つ新ページを作らないと ・・・

You see I’ve been absent from this website over the last week or so —
I’ve been busy corresponding with a certain anti-nuke group and creating a new article to my Jp anti-nuke website .

When I’m done with the two, I’ll resume posting my drawings and paintings here!

Still a long way to go.

Back in Titian’s days, Venus appeared in
“physical” paintings. Today, no wonder
she will appear in a digital screen of an AI
gadget.

まだ制作は進行中。

ティティアーノの時代なら、
ヴェーナスは「物理的な」絵画で
登場しましたよね。
現在なら、AIガジェットのデジタル
スクリーンに表れても、何もおかしく
ないわけでして ・・

Way below on Apr. 19, I posted a pencil scratch
for this new painting, which is only just begun.

“Narcissus” is a name full of implications.
Beauty, if “trapped within itself”, can only
end up with a self-serving tragedy.
True beauty is something open to the “infinite
other” — just like the legendary daffodils that
came out at Jesus’s tomb after His Resurrection.

ずっと下の４月19日、この新作の鉛筆スクラッチを
紹介しました。
その新作の描き始めがこちら。

「ナルシソス」という花の名前にはいろんな含意が
あって ・・・
美しさというものは、自己のうちに閉塞してしまうなら、
自己目的的な悲劇で終わりかねない、とか。
真の美というのは、「無限の他者」に対して
開かれているものでしょう。
ちょうど、キリストの墓にまつわる伝説で、
ご復活の後でdaffodil という花が咲いたとされている
ように。
