Some progress from May 16 below —

Currently, I’m busy with my other website,
an anti-nuke site aimed at Japanese readers,
and rather slow in painting progress.
So, I need some time before I post Stage 3.

下の５月１６日から、いくらか進みました。

今のところ、私のもう１つのウェブサイト
「やかんをのせたら～～」

の作成で多忙でして、絵画の方がゆっくりに
なっております。
そのため、ステージ３をアップロードするまで、
しばしお時間をくださいませ。

So, I’ve got a new set of 0.3mm felt-tip pens, but
did I threw away my older, thicker set??
I thought over what to do with it, and found out that
I could use it with compositions of lines.
I tried this one, shown below, to explore how
I should work with “lines only.”

This trial continues. for some time to come.

そんなわけで0.3mmのマーカーペンのセットを
手に入れたのですが、以前の太いマーカーのセットは
捨ててしまった ・・・ わけじゃ、ありません！
それを何に使えるのかを考えた結果、線だけの
構成には使えそうです。
ここにお見せしているものを実験として、
線だけでの描き方を探っています。

実験は、しばらく続きます。

Here I’ve begun working with the new set of 0.3 mm felt-tip pens.
I use the same model and the same pose as shown earlier on May 12.
(Based on Croquis Cafe 104)

The set contains only 20 colors (This was the largest 0.3 mm set available!)
so I have to consider how to work with this color limitation.

So, the exercise continues.

その0.3 mm のマーカーで、描き始めたところです。
下の5月12日と同じモデルさん、同じポーズですね。
（Croquis Cafe 104 をベースに）

このマーカー セットは手に入る中で最大のものだったのですが、
それでも20色しかありません。この色数制限のなかで、
どう配色を決めるかを考えませんと。

そんな点描練習、これから続きます。

SO, as shown below, I’ve got a new set of felt-tip pens, this time
very “slim” ones of o.3 mm.
And I’ve made a pencil outline drawing of the same model, same pose
as shown earlier on May 12. (Based on Croquis Cafe 104)
One problem with the new set is it contains only 20 colors —
this is the largest 0.3mm set available.
I really have to consider how to work with such limited colors!

で、ここに示すように新しいマーカーのセットを買ってきました。
0.3㎜ の細いペン先です。
すでに、下の5月12日のものと同じモデル、同じポーズの
鉛筆デッサンも描いてあります。（Croquis Cafe 104 をベースに）
このセットの問題点は20色しかない点ですが、これが 0.3 mmの
最大セットでした。
色をどう使っていくか、考えないと。

次回の記事で、「細い VS 太い」の違いが明らかになります。
しばしお待ちくださいな。

The felt-tip pens I had been using went dry (out of ink).
I got a new set of pens, but they  have tips that are too thick
(1mm or larger) —

As you see here, the result seems sick and miserable!
Pointillism works better with thin-tipped pens, at least with me.

I need to work with some thinner pens.
So, I’ll go search for some “finer” ones.

それまで使っていたマーカーのインクが枯れて
しまいました。
新しいマーカーのセットを買ったのですが、それが
ペン先が太すぎるのです。

ご覧のとおり、ペン先が太すぎると何か病気のような、
惨めな絵になってしまいます。
少なくても私の場合、点描は細いペン先で描いた方が
良いですね。

細いペン先が必要なので、それを探しに行きます。

Thick pens do not work with me! I confirmed that and then gave up this one.
/ 太いペン先では、私には適さないですね。それを確認できたので、この絵はこれで打ち切りました。

Now, I’ll work on the back.
