Boy, we are having one report after another on the “Chornobyl”

I’m working on a new webpage on the on-going Chornobyl
military-nuclear crisis in my anti-nuke website, which is

— so, I didn’t like the initial scratch shown just
two days ago. I’ve made a new one shown here.
It’s just a scratch and therefore still “unintelligible” —
I’ll work on it in the days to come!
It’s a depiction of nuclear plants turned into dirty bombs
after they are bombed!
… というわけで、２日前の下絵が自分で気に入らないため、
このとおり新しい下絵を作成しました。
まだ下絵なので、「ワケが分からない」ですが、
これから制作を進めていきます！
原発そのものが爆撃されて、一種の巨大な
ダーティ ボムになってしまった ・・ そんな情景です。

Many artists today are working to create arts of prayer for peace, including
myself.
Yet I am experiencing some struggles over how to pro0ceed —
Shown below is my scratch for a painting that prays for peace, but I don’t like
it so I have to struggle some more.
When I come up with a scratch I like, I’ll work on it until I come up with a
painting of peace prayer.
この状況の中、多数のアーティストが平和を祈る作品を創作しています。
私も、もちろんその一人。
ただ、私自身はどうもどんな進め方をすればよいのか、試行錯誤しております。
下に示すのはそうした作品の下絵なのですが、どうも自分で気に入りません。
もうしばらく試行錯誤が続きそうです。
気に入った下絵が出来たら、それをもとに平和を祈る作品にしていきます。

I found this “twisted” tree in my neighborhood.
What made it so “twisted”?? I have no idea.

Just a 5-minute croquis / 5分クロッキーです
So, as many of you probably expected, I’ve been busy with my other website,
an anti-nuke site written in Japanese, over the last several days, since
the Russian invasion in Ukraine began.
There are the following two major “nuclear risks”:
– Russia resorting to its nuclear weapons
– Ukraine has four NPPs in operation, whose buildings,
used fuel storages, and/or external power supplies might be damaged
in the current war.
You know, I’ve been busy writing on these issues in my other website —
even though, I kept some quick drawing exercise.
There are some statues of historic figures in my neighborhood, and
I made some quick croquis of them.
Here is one of them, Jesus of Nazareth.
5 minutes with a ball-point pen.
Honestly, I found this statue too “stereotypical” —-
I wish to see someone working on a statue of Jesus working
as a “carpenter”, which might have been a “day labor” in the
society he spent his earthly years.
(Matthew 20: 1 – 16 suggests, though not in carpentry, Jesus
was familiar with day labor.)

おそらくは皆様の多くの方々の予想通り、私のもう1つのウェブサイト「やかんを
のせたら～～」の作成で、ここ数日間は多忙でした。ロシア軍によるウクライナ
侵略が始まったためですね。
主な「核がらみのリスク」として、次の2種類がありますもんね：
– ロシアが、核兵器使用に踏み切る
– ウクライナには稼働中の原発が4か所あり、現在の戦闘でその構造物自体、使用済み燃料保管場所、外部電源供給の何れか又はすべてが損傷を受けてしまう
お察しのとおり、上記の問題について「やかんをのせたら～～」に記しておりました。それでも、短時間でのデッサンやクロッキー練習は、続けております。
近所に彫刻があって、歴史上の人物の像が並んでおります。
彼らの短時間クロッキーを描く練習をします。
そのうちの1つ、ナザレのイエス。
ボールペンで5分間
この彫刻は、正直なところ、あまりにもステレオタイプな感があります。
「大工」としての仕事に励むイエスの姿など、だれか作成してくれない
のでしょうかねえ？当時の社会では、「大工」というのは日雇い労働で
あった場合もあるのでして。
（マタイ20： 1－16を見ると、確かに「大工」ではありませんが、ナザレの
イエスが「日雇い労働」のことをよく知っていた可能性が窺えますよね）
So, this is done!

まず、全体を。やはり、露光が不足しておりますね。
