Scheme for “St. Francis with Birds” / （聖フランシスと鳥たち）のための図案
Over here in Tokyo, killing heat has been haunting us — literally,
it has cost dozens of lives so far.
In such dangerous heat, I am not able to concentrate when I work
on paintings. So, I worked on schemes of some new works.
Here is one for a new work titled “St. Francis with Birds”.
ここ東京では危険な暑さが続いており、文字通り何十名かの方々がお亡くなりに
なっています。
ここまで危険な暑さの中にいますと、絵を描いていても集中できません。
そこで、新しい作品の図案を描いております。
こちらは、”St. Francis with Birds”（聖フランシスと鳥たち）という
新しい作品のための図案。

Just a scheme / 単なる図案です
The famous “insertion” into the King James Version, known as the “Comma Johanneum”,
strangely inspired me —
I’m talking about the First Epistle of John 5: 7b – 8a — see the insertion in the KJV.
聖書のキング ジェームズ バージョンには、「コンマ ヨハンネウム」と呼ばれる
有名な挿入があって、それを読んでいて子の図案が浮かび上がったものです。

New scheme for “Emunah” / “Emunah” の新しい図案
I still don’t like the scheme for “Emunah” shown below, after all.
I had to work on yet another scheme, and here it is.
I wanted more “irregularity” and “movement”.

どうも、下に紹介した”Emunah”の図案が、まだ自分で気に入りません。
さらに新たな図案を考えました。
もっと「不規則性」と「運動」が欲しかったのですね。

So, this protest painting is done.
Apart from the pandemic, the choice of the season is highly questionable.
Here in Tokyo, a mid-summer is usually a season of killing heat, literally.
Today, the temperature outside has already climbed up to 33C (91F) as of
10:53 am — already exceeded the forecast high of 32C !
We, common citizens in the metropolis, are already warned to avoid outdoor
exercise and beware of a heat stroke. No joke.
Then, why have they chosen this season of “murderous heat” for the Olympic games!?
Obviously, this is not the right treatment to the precious athletes from abroad.

コロナパンデミック以外の点でも、なぜ真夏を開催時期に選んだのか？？
ここ東京では、真夏はたいてい殺人的な暑さになります。
今日の屋外気温は、午前10：５３の時点ですでに３３C に達しており、
すでに予報の最高気温３２Cを超えています。
私も含め東京の一般市民には、屋外での運動などを避け、熱中症に注意するよう
警告が出ています。
なら、なんでこんな時期をオリンピック開催時期に選んだのか？？
諸外国にとって大切なアスリートの方々をお迎えするに、
適した時期でないことは明らかですよね。

Stage 2 of my depiction of a current social phenomenon that is quite “ugly” —
I’ve titled it “Vaccinated Olympic”.
Of course, this is a protest to Japan’s current administration, which is
forcing the Tokyo Olympic games to be held, against the majority citizens’ “nay”
and thus exposing countless athletes to contagion.

現在の社会問題で大変醜悪なものを描いた作品のステージ２です。
“Vaccinated Olympic”（ワクチン接種したオリンピック）というタイトルにしました。
もちろん、日本の現政権に対する批判作品です。
現政権は、市民多数の「中止」意見に反してオリンピックを強行し、
多数のアスリートの方々を感染リスクに曝しています。

So, here I restart the one titled “Emunah” (Hebrew for firm, steady)
whose original scheme, shown below on July 8, I abandoned.
The new scheme looks somehow like Kandinsky’s “Several Circles” —
Still, the original inspiration remains the same, Exodus 17: 12.

Emunahというタイトルにした作品ですが、下の７月８日に紹介した
島しょの図案はやめにして、この新しい図案でやり直しています。
どこか、カンディンスキーの”Seve3ral Circles”を想起させますね。
ただ、インスピレーションの源泉は変わらず、出エジプト記１７：１２です。
