Phase 2 / フェーズ2

After comparing two similar works (the tulips posted earlier) of pointillism, one with oil pastel and the other with felt-tip markers, I decided on durable markers in pointillism.
So, should I discard oil pastel?? No! Oil pastel is a very clumsy medium when it comes to drawing precision. This at the same time means it is excellent in deforming things!

So, I have decided to use oil pastel in “socio-psychological realism” — to depict all the distortions found in our human society! Here, I have just started with it —

下で、チューリップという同じモティーフを、マーカー点描とオイルパステル点描で描いてみました。結局、点描ではインクの耐久性の高いマーカーを使おうということに決めました。
じゃ、オイルパステルは捨ててしまうのか？いえ！ オイルパステルは、正確に描くには実に不向きな、「不器用な」画材です。しかしそれは同時に、物事を歪めるには実に適した画材だ、ということでもあります。

そこで、オイルパステルは「社会・心理的リアリズム」に用いることにしました。人間の社会には、歪みだらけ！それを、オイルパステルで描いていきます。とりあえず、描き始めましたよ。

While resuming work with soft paste, as shown below, I am carrying on an experiment with felt-tip marker pointillism of flowers as well.
Here is the beginning of it. Of course, it is currently still in progress.

For a year or so, I’ve been working with oil pastel and felt-tip markers —
Still, I have not left behind my long-cherished medium — soft pastel!
So, here I go again. The first phase of a new soft pastel work.

もうこの1年ほど、オイルパステルやマーカーでの創作を続けてきました。
でも、長年私が愛してきた画材を忘れたわけじゃ、ありません。
ええ、ソフトパステルです！

I’ve been working on oil pastel pointillism lately, but when it comes to pointillism, I find myself more attracted to the colors of some felt-tip markers. So, I just created the marker pointillism piece below.
Mmmm — I do prefer the colors felt-tip markers make on paper, since they have some transparency. The problem with markers is — durability! If I find markers with good durable colors, I’ll set my focus on such markers in pointillism. Now, I’m looking for such markers —-

このところ、オイルパステルでの点描をやってますが、どうも点描となると、マーカーの方が自分の好みに合うようです。そこで、このマーカー点描の実験を創りました。
どうも、紙にマーカーを施したときの色の方が、透明感があって、私は好きなようです。
でもマーカーの問題は、色の耐久性なんです！
色にかなりの耐久性があるマーカーを見つけたら、点描では主にマーカーを使うことにしようと思っているのですが。

I was quite busy with some other jobs last week, and just resumed working on this “new motif” — tulips.
This is only 30% done, and the work goes on.

再開しました。
