Well, usually I don’t like explaining symbolism — better it’s left to contemplation and imagination!
Still, sometimes just a little explanation can help —
With the “No Nukes + Peace” black T-shirt below, on the front, the single “constellation bird” carries a  “peace symbol” of dotted lines.
On the back, four such birds get together and the same symbol is now in continuous lines of glittering gold.
The client wanted to carry his “prayers for peace and freedom from  nukes” in this T-shirt.
Now, I leave the rest up to each of you ~~

So, the back side is done. Again, my cranky camera created the ghostly shades of green over some parts, yet in reality they are non-existent — the shirt is of solid black. Also, the poor camera is unable to capture the glitters — the “peace symbol” is in glittering gold and “No Nukes” in glittering silver, actually!

ウラ面です。やはり、私のボロ カメラは存在しないグリーンの陰を、作り出してしまいました。おまけに、ゴールドとシルバーのラメも写せませんね。実際には、ピースマークがラメ入りのゴールド、No Nukesがラメ入りのシルバーなのです。

↓ The design “sketches” below are, after all, sketches.
The “real work,” on its front side, looks like this, somehow.
I said “somehow,” because my camera is not good enough to reproduce the “glitters” of the silver “No Nukes” message. Take my word for it — the real thing looks a lot better than the photos below.
Also, the right sleeve has “No Nukes” on it — again, my camera is no good and fails to reproduce the true colors:
– The “green” around the sleeve is something the poor camera created — the real shirt is solid black.
– The “No Nukes” message is actually yellow, yet my cranky camera failed to reproduce the color.    <“(>_< ;;)

↓ 下の「デザイン略画｣は、あくまで「略画」でございます。
実際の作品のオモテ面は、下の写真の「ように」なります。
「ように」と申しますのは、私のカメラでは、シルバーの “No Nukes” にあるラメの 輝きを写してくれませんので。
また、右の袖にも”No Nukes” とあるのですが、やはり私のカメラでは本当の色が出ておりません。
– 写真では袖の周囲などに「緑」が出ておりますが、実物はブラック1色のシャツでして、この緑はカメラの性能の悪さです。
– 袖の”No Nukes” は実際にはイエローなのですが、やはり私のカメラは本当の色を捉えてはくれません。   <“(>_< ;;)

Right sleeve / 右袖 * The real thing is yellow, with no "strange green" around it / 実物では、No Nukes はイエローです。その周囲のグリーンも、実際はブラックです。

Maybe some of you are disappointed to see the samples below —
Yet remember, “design sketches” are to be reworked on and reconsidered. They are nothing final.
A customer sent me an order for a “No Nukes + Peace” black crew-neck T-shirt, and below I show you its design sketches, front and back.
Unless the order is for a design already shown in this weblog, I usually make things like these, and when the customer gives an approval, I work on the “real clothes.”
When the “real work” is done, I’ll post its photos here.

このデザイン略画だけご覧になると、「なんだこれ、へたくそ～～」と思われるかも。
デザイン略画とは、決して最終的なものでなく、さらに修正などを加えるので、この程度のものがよいのです。
あるお客様から、「No Nukes + Peace」 ブラック クルーネックTシャツのご注文をいただきました。そのオモテとウラのデザイン略画を下に。
このブログで既に掲載しているデザインをご注文の場合を除き、たいていの場合、こういうデザイン略画を作成し、お客様からご承認が得られたら、「実物」（Tシャツなど)に作業を始めるのです。
実物が出来たら、また写真をここで紹介しますね。

I know it’s 11:30pm JST, but I’m happy to announce that the custom-made, hand-painted workshop of Atelier anastasia is back in “business as usual” — I’ve been having one rush writing job after another over the last several days, and I’ve done them all!
