Below, I experimented with “pastel over oil pastel” — a technique which I thought might create some translucence in a color painted over another. So, I tried.
Yes, it did create some translucence, yet the resulting colors are not good. I want more brilliant, cleaner colors!

So, I am planning to create an oil pastel version of this soon —

下のは、単なる実験です。オイルパステルの上にパステルを重ねるという技法を実験してみたかったのですね。半透明な色が得られるかもしれないと思ったので。
確かに半透明性は得られたのですが、どうも色があまりきれいではないですね。もっと輝きのある、きれいな色が欲しかったのですが。

そこで、このオイルパステル バージョンを描く計画です。

Experiment of pastel over oil pastel

I know this can look clumsy to some, but my focus in painting this was:
a shower of photons turning a human into a life of light.
The starting point was the 20-minute croquis lower right (Feb. 12).

Power in the chaos —

Another 20-min x 6-pose croquis (quick drawing session) yesterday.
I know the one below is quite coarse and sketchy, and in it I experimented drawing a curvy female body with straight lines alone.
Needless to say, I cannot finish it off in just 20 minutes, yet I think I work this way well — probably, with color pencils.

また、20分 X 6ポーズのクロッキー（速写画）会がありました。
下のものは、大変荒っぽく雑であることは、明らかです。これは、直線だけで女性の曲線的な身体を描けるか否か、という実験です。
やはりいうまでもなく、20分では最後まで持って行けるものでは、ありません。それでも、この「直線描法」もやれそうだな、という感触を得ています。たぶん、色鉛筆が良いでしょう。

On February 12, I posted the 20-min monochrome croquis (quick drawing) below, and I like it. So, I’ve been trying to develop it into a full pastel work, but this one below I don’t like.

This is an unusual post — an MP3 music file of me singing J.S. Bach’s “Air on G String”, a cappella and vocalise, meant to cheer up a friend of mine. I’m still a beginner in singing, and you know how hard it is to satisfy the audience with “solo, a cappella and vocalise” !!  Yet I hope he likes it and finds it comforting.
I’m a beginner male soprano.

これは、珍しくMP3音声ファイルの投稿です。ある友人のために。
JS Bach、”Air on G String” を、私がアカペラ＆ヴォカリーゼで独唱したものです。
私はまだ歌は初心者ですし、「ソロ、アカペラ、ヴォカリーゼ」で聴衆を満足させるってのは、大変困難なことです。それでも、その友人が気に入ってくれることを願って。
（私、男声ソプラノの初心者なんです）

This is not a ghost — the re-work of CRAY-PAS(R) Experiment 2 (See February 18th, way below.) is done.

Started with this 10-min croquis

Below, on March 20th and 24th, I showed 20 minute croquis (quick drawings) of a human model seemingly being “evaporated” —- into some new being.
I am doing an experiment along this line — a human body being “evaporated” into a new body of light.

Shown below is still experimental along this line. Still an experiment.
I think the “space of lights (of different colors)” is OK — I think I can develop it into a fine, multi-colored space of lights.
The problem is the posture of the body — you know, a human body with the arms spread like wings would be a cliche. So, I tried the one below — bending the knees to suggest jumping up — yet it is not working well. So, in the coming weeks, I’ll try another posture.

下の3月20日と24日、モデルさんの身体が「蒸発」しているかのような感じの20分クロッキーを紹介しました。消えてなくなるわけじゃなくて、何か高次元の、光の身体に変化していく人体ですね。

ここで紹介しているのは、（まだ作品ではなく）実験の続きです。
背景の「多色の光のスペース」は、この線で進めばきれいなスペースを作れると思っています。
問題は、モデルさんの姿勢ですね。たとえば、（高次元への変化だからといって）両手を翼のように広げたのでは、月並みですよね。それで、このように膝をかがめてジャンプをにおわせてみたのですが、どうもうまくいきません。これから何週間か、別の姿勢を検討してみます。
