The “shell heart” choker below, reworked after the client’s request, is in the final stage of its making — the client wants it hung on a black vinyl string, and she will decide the right length of the string. 44cm (17+1/3 inches), or 50cm (20 inches) ??? 　Anyway, only “custom-making” can provide such flexibility and fine adjustment.
Now, the photos below show two different string lengths, with the same “pendant” on the same torso (modeled after a 160cm [5’4”] – tall East Asian woman). Which length do you like better??

「貝殻ハート」のチョーカーですが、本作品をご注文くださったお客様からのご要望に応じて作り直し、制作の最終段階～～ お客様は黒いビニールのコードに吊り下げるのをご希望なのですが、そのコードの長さを44cmにすべきか、50cmにすべきか、お客様にご判断いただいているところです。オーダーメイドならではの、柔軟性と細かい調整ですね。
で、50cmのコードと44cmのコード、皆様はどちらがお好きでしょうか？ペンダント自体はもちろん同じもの、トルソーも同じです。このトルソーは、身長160cmの東アジア（日本列島を含む)の女性をモデルにしています。

OK, this is basically a custom-hand-painted shirt workshop — yet I’m having some orders for beaded accessories as well. If you click “Older posts” below and go back in time, you see late April I made an experimental headband of beads.
The headband got an order. A “similar one with more pinks” is wanted by the client, and the budget is quite limited. So, no precious stone, yet an artist needs to make the very best of a strictly limited budget, as well —
The photo below shows the “making” — the work is in progress.

ここは基本的に「オーダー ハンドペイント のTシャツ屋さん」なんですが、ビーズのアクセサリーのご注文もいただいております。下の Older posts をクリックして時間を逆に進んでいただくと、4月下旬に私が試作品のヘッドバンドを公開しております。
これにも、ご注文をいただきました。「類似したもので、ピンクを多く」とのことです。ただ、ご予算が極めて限られているので、天然石などは使えません。なら、極めて限定された予算の中で、どう良い作品を作るのか？それが、アーティストの能力が試される点でもありますね。
下の写真では、メイキングを。作業進行中なんです。

So, the shell heart choker is “tentatively done” — it is subject to change upon the client’s request. This is where “making to an order” proves its might!!
The “heart section” can be attached to and detached off a string.
貝殻ハートのチョーカー、「いったん」完成です ～～　つまり、ご注文のお客様のご要望に応じて、まだ変わる可能性があります。これが、「オーダーメイド」の良いところですね。
ハートの部分を、ラバーストリングなどに着脱可能です。

So, the experiment is over — yet I’m not wasting that thin white T-shirt. I’ve dyed it in a rather avant-garde way, and will make a drawing on it.

先日の「スプレー実験」の薄いホワイトTシャツですが、あれでムダにするわけでは、ございません。アヴァンギャルドに染めてあります。近く、ドローイングを施します。

A certain client has ordered me for a choker featuring a “shell heart.” It is still in the making. The “heart” has no through hole in it, so I “tied it up” with strings of beads. Obviously, one major problem with this technique is durability — I have to make sure the bead strings will not loosen to let the “heart fall off”, after years of use. So, I have to form a “triangle” on the back to secure the heart. Whatever it is, “securing the heart” takes some work ~~~

あるお客様からのご注文で、「貝殻のハート｣をフィーチャーしたチョーカーを作っています。このハートには通し穴がないので、ビーズのストリングで結んで留めています。この手法の場合、耐久性がとにかく問題！ 何年も使用しても、ビーズのストリングが緩んでハートが落っこちることが、あっちゃ困ります！ なので、ハートのウラ面に三角形をつくり、しっかりと結び付けています。　　どんなハートであれ、ハートをしっかりと保つには、苦労しますね！

Other beads I got yesterday — Except for the “cat eyes” in the middle, they are plastic beads, nothing expensive. Yet I love them, especially the “cherries” in the bottom.

昨日買って来た、その他のビーズです。中央の｢キャットアイ」を除くと、プラスチックのビーズで、高価なものではありません。でも、下の「チェリー｣とか、気に入っています。

I went to a bead specialist store today, and see what I got there:

Alphabet beads for "faster no nukes accessories"

Of course, these “alphabet beads” are for “no nukes” accessories, but the “Us” alone are gold-plated. I wanted “Us” in white as well, but the store was out of “white Us.”  <“(+_+  ;;)

Of course, as shown below, I can weave some seed beads to make “letter pieces” — yet making these takes so much time!! I needed some alphabet beads for “faster versions” of “no nukes accessories.”

→ 右の写真にあるように、No Nukesアクセサリーのためのアルファベットビーズを、ビーズ専門店に行って買ってきました。しかし、U だけがホワイトにはなく、やむをえずUのみゴールドになってしまいました！
無論、下の写真にあるように、自分でシードビーズを編んで文字ピースをつくることはできるのですが・・・それをやると、大変時間がかかるのですよ！なので、「No Nukesアクセサリーの迅速バージョン」のために、アルファベット ビーズが必要だったのですね。

というわけで、下の真っ白くて薄いTシャツを何色かの薄い色で染めてみました。首穴の左側はワーム グレイのように写真では見えますが、実は薄いピンクです。私のカメラが、色を忠実にとらえられなかったのですね。

さらに下の写真で、大量の水をスプレーしました。結果、こういう淡い色でも、「いやな露出」を軽減できることが確認できました。

写真の中央より少し下、木の色の箇所があります。実はこれ、この箇所を作るために指で抑えて作ったものです。スプレーだけでは、これは現れなかったのですね。私は、これは奇妙に思いました。（この箇所がないと、この写真全体がなんやら”魔法”のように見えてしまうかも。奇妙なので、指でワザワザ押さえて、この木の色の箇所が見えるようにしたのです）　で、この木の色の箇所も、↓ の「純白状態」での同様の箇所に比べ、木の色がボヤケテいますね。

結論として、薄い色でも「こまったスケスケ」を軽減できることがわかりました。しかも、薄い色なら、「炎天下の黒いTシャツ」ほどには「暑さに身を焼かれそうになる」ことはありません。

A certain client has asked me to make a choker featuring a heart pendant of shells, some pearls, and amethyst and aqua marine, plus some seed beads. So, I visited some specialist stores in my neighborhood today and got these:

The amethyst and aqua marine, though they seem “completely opaque” in the photo, are actually a bit translucent and shows their insides — really beautiful!

あるお客様からのご注文で、貝殻のハートのペンダントをフィーチャーしたチョーカーを作ることになりました。そのハート以外に、パールやアメジスト、アクアマリンを使います。そこで、近所の専門店に行って、上ののパーツや石を買ってきたのです。
アメジストとアクアマリンは、写真ではまったく不透明に見えますが、実物はいくらか内部が見え、実にきれいですよ。

So, I dyed the thin white T-shirt in some pale colors.  Please note that the portion to your left of the collar is actually dyed in pale pink, though it seems like some subtle warm gray in the photo. My cranky camera is not good enough —

Below, I sprayed and sprayed — see that even such a very weak color can alleviate the “exposure”!
The wood-colored portion  below the center of the photo — believe me, I I intentionally pressed this portion onto the hand model inside, to make it emerge. After the spraying, this portion did not emerge, and I thought that was strange. (Without this portion, the whole picture looked like a magic. I wanted an “honest” photo. So, I pressed the portion with a finger.)  And as you see, even in this portion, the wooden color is vaguer than in the photo of a similar portion in the “pure white” below.

In short, even weak colors can alleviate “unwanted exposure.” Dyeing in weak colors can help, while letting you avoid that “scorching in a black T-shirt”.
