A “joky beaded ring”

It’s not tough to weave some small beads (“seed beads”) into a ring — yet the result usually looks like a “toy,” unless you put a lot of expensive natural stones in it.
OK, then, why not take advantage of this “toylike-ness” and create some “pop and joky” rings???
– A string of beads worn around a finger
– With a larger “stone” (glass) hung on the string’s end
— see? It’s joky.
Needless to say, I meant this to go with  “pop,” casual wear.

In the photo below, the “model hand” is wearing an example of such a ring, around its little finger.
The little finger, around its root, has a circumference of 55.5mm. Still, as I’ll elaborate in several days, the wearer can adjust the ring’s size, to some extent.

If you want to try one, just let me know
– the design you want (especially, whether you want a natural stone(s) in the ring or not
– the approximate size of the ring you want (though it is adjustable to some extent).
Then, I can make one to your order.

お待たせしました、Atelier ανασ†τασια のライティング以外のビジネスも、再開しております。

A “joky beaded ring” / ふざけたビーズのリング
(See above for an English version of this post.)

ビーズを編んでリングを作ると、どうも「おもちゃっぽい」ものになりますよね。高価な天然石ばかり使うとか、しない限り。
だったら、その「おもちゃっぽさ」を逆に活かして、ふざけたポップなリングにすれば良いのじゃ？　という発想で、
・ 編んだビーズのストリングがクルクルと指に絡み、
・ 大きな石 (ガラス) は、その一端にぶら下げてある
という「ふざけたリング」です。
明らかに、Jokyなカジュアル ファッションとの組み合わせを前提にしています。
写真の「手のモデル」の小指根元サイズは、図ってみると15号 (円周 55.5㎜) でした。ただし、このリング、ある程度サイズはユーザーがご自分で調整できます。(後日解説)

See? It’s joky —

[skleerokardia] — ancient Greek for “stiffened heart.”
For instance, every time I see a hate speech or a terrosim, I think of this Greek. And there are  many other tragedies that do the same, in our world.
So, I created this piece, praying for peace on earth.

[skleerokardia] — 「頑ななハート」という古代ギリシャ語。
たとえば、ヘイトスピーチやテロリズムなどを目にするたびに、このギリシャ語が私の中でこだまします。他にも、そうさせる悲劇がこの世界には無数に。。
それで、この作品を創ったのでした。

An edgy triangle — “stinging”

So, I’ve shown every single Piece of the Quadruptych — but what does its whole look like?
Well, I leave this “placement” to each exhibitor.
For instance, in a four-walled room, one can place one Piece on each wall, to create some mystical atmosphere.
Below, when I exhibited it in a gallery, I had a space restriction and had to combine the four Pieces like shown in the photo.

この4連祭壇画の各ピースは、すべて紹介しました。で、全体としてはどのようになるのでしょうか？？
この「配置」については、個々の展示者に任せております。
一例として4つの壁面がある部屋であれば、各壁面に1つずつ配置すれば、なんやら謎めいた雰囲気の部屋が出来上がります。
下の写真では、私自身があるギャラリーで展示したのですが、使用できるスペースの制約があったため、こういう配置にせざるを得ませんでした。

One way to show the whole

Piece 4 of the Quadruptych below — no paint on the white paper in the middle. It’s just cut-out — the bottom wooden board is exposed.
We, humans, give “the Supreme” many names (shapes) — Christ, God, Buddha, etc. — since we need names to refer to something. Yet that all-embracing something does not need a name —

下の「水の上を歩くキリストの、4連祭壇画」のピース4です。中央の白い紙には、何も塗っておりません。ただ、切り抜いてあるだけです。
我々人間は、「至高者」をいろんな名称で呼びます。神、仏、キリスト、その他。我々には、何かに言及するために、名称 (形) が必要ですから。でも、すべてを抱擁する至高者そのものは、何の名称も必要とはされないでしょう。。

The “shape” lets you think you see something, yet that is only human necessity —

Here is Piece 3 of the Quadruptych —

Again, pastel, acrulic, and water on paper and cut-out carton, both fixed on wooden board
Brilliant, pure light that invites us above yet does not burn or scorch us — truly gentle light. I saw such light before, to be honest.
And human reasoning tries to give a shape (definition, term, explanation, etc.) to such light — as does the “cutout carton” in this Piece tries to do. Well, this “shaping” always fails, inevitably. Light never stays within a shape.

正直に言ってしまうと、「まばゆく清い光、我々を上へと招きながら、しかも決して我々の肌を焦がさない光」― そんな優しい光を、私は以前、経験したことがあります。
人の知性は、そんな光を「形」に収めようとします。(定義、用語、説明など）
ちょうど、この作品の切り抜いたカートンがしようとしているように。
そしてその「形に収めようとする努力」は、必ず失敗します。光は、形の中に留まりはしないのです。

The “characters” are imaginative — no “existing” language has such characters!
Just think of the “Kobayan” language of Christian Vander.

Piece 1

Another example

Chatting with a friend, I found out I still had some photos from a “light on paintings”  exhibition I held years ago.
I hung some simple geometrical paintings on the walls, and then some colored light filters between each painting and the light source before it. See what happened.
Each visitor to the gallery was invited to replace one filter with another, so he/she could try some new combinations of a filter and a painting.

As you know, what we actually see with our eyes is light from an object, not the object itself (Ding an sich) —

ある友達とチャットしていて、ずっと前に私がやった「絵画に光を当てる」展覧会の写真を、まだ持っていたことに気づきました。
単純な幾何学的絵画を壁に配置、その前にあるライトと絵画の間に、光を通すカラーフィルターをぶら下げたものです。どういう光が当たるかにより、同じ絵画がまったく異なって見えますよね。
お客様はそれぞれ、フィルターを取り換えることができるように、していました。各自が、新しい「光と絵画の組み合わせ」を作れるわけです。

言うまでもありませんが、私たちが見ているものは、実は物体からの光であって、物体そのもの (Ding an sich) を見ているわけではないのですね。
