で、そのチョーカー本体です。大変シンプルですね。このサンプルは、全長が48㎝です。
では、これに次の3つのパーツをつけるまで、お待ちくださいな。3つのパーツとは、5月7日の「正方形と二等辺三角形」、5月1日の「鈍角三角形」、そして4月20日の「円柱」です。
The choker itself —
I’ve been sick over the last several days — at last, I’m recovering and resumed the work of beaded gepmetrical shapes.
Here is a square and an isosceles triangle connected to each other.
Together with the obtuse triangle shown below (May 1st), these are to be parts of a geometrical choker.
As you see, there is a limitation to making geo forms with beads — the square, for instance, does not look very “square.” Yet this might appeal to those who are not “squares” !!
この数日間、体調を崩しておりました。ようやく回復してきているので、ビーズで幾何図形を作る作業を再開しました。
これは、正方形と二等辺三角形をくっつけたものです。
下の（5月1日）鈍角三角形と合わせて、チョーカーにする予定です。
ご覧のとおり、ビーズで幾何図形を作ると、限界があります。たとえばこの正方形、あまり「四角四面」ではございません。でも、「四角四面な性格」ではない皆様には、こういう正方形の方が面白いかも。

I have been fond of obtuse triangles — their two sharp angles!
I have been trying to make such triangles with beads, yet as you see in the photos below, a beaded triangle usually comes out “lacking the sharp edge” —
Still, considering an accessory often comes in direct contact with the skin, a sharp edge is actually quite dangerous !
So, I think here is a necessary compromise for the sake of safety. Thus, I will use this beaded triangle in a choker with the “cylinder” below (April 20).
私は以前から、鈍角三角形の２つの鋭利な角度が好きでして。
そうした三角形をビーズで作ろうとしてきたのですが～～下の写真でお分かりのように、ビーズで鈍角三角形を作ると、どうしても角度に「鋭さ」がなくなってしまうのですよ。
でも、アクセサリーというのは皮膚に直接触れることが多いので、鋭利なエッジがあると、それこそ危険でございます。
ですから、この点は安全のために妥協すべきかなと。というわけで、このビーズの三角形と、下（4月20日）の円柱を組み合わせて、チョーカーを作ろうとしております。

* Notice a man in black and in solitude, in the right-middle bottom of the painting. This I painted back in 1989 to 1990, when Japan’s “bubble” economy was heated, discos were “hot” back then.
Yet in solitude in the overheat, some people, including myself, were predicting the downfall and collapse (worse than just a recession) of the economy. Now, 25 years have passed, and you know what’s happening in the nation’s economy —

Thus, art activism does not always have to depict a scene of war or famine. It can also go spiritual amid things quite common and worldly.
I intend to pursue “spiritual art in activism.”
こんなわけで、アート アクティビズムは必ずしも、戦争や飢饉のシーンばかりを描く必要はございません。ありふれた社会の事象の中で、スピリチャルであることもできます。
私としては、”spiritual art in activism” を志しているのですね。

So, I often paint many forms of darkness we humans create, hoping to find some “light out of there”. Often, such an artistic attitude leads me into “art activisim” or something close to it.
そこで私は、我々人間が作り出す暗闇を描くことがあります。「そこから脱出する光」をなんとか見たいからですね。そうした姿勢は、いわゆる「アート アクティビズム」のようなものに近づくケースが、少なくありません。
The “flag” below, titled “A National Flag,” was a scandal when I exhibited it along with three other works on war back in 1989, at a gallery in Tokyo. I thought, honestly, some people were reluctant to see light. I still do.
下の「旗」は、”A National Flag” (国旗) というタイトルの作品です。1989年、これを東京の某ギャラリーで、他の戦争に関する作品3点と併せて展示したとき、いくらか騒ぎになりました。そのとき、正直に言ってしまうと私は、世の中には光を見たがらない人もいるのだと思いました。今でも、そう思います。

I have to get two rush writing jobs by the end of this month (April), and I have to slow down the making of my new works until then.
So, during the rest of this month, I will occasionally post some of my old paintings — accompanied by some quotes I love from Meister Eckhart, to describe my stance in painting.

The same cylinder — it has a lot of color beads in it, yet it is hard for my camera to capture them! So, I hung it right onto a light source, in this photo. I hope now you see there are a lot inside.
This cylinder is to be the centerpiece of a new choker. I am working on a few other “components” — which I will show you here, in several days to come.
下の、同じ円柱です。中にカラービーズが入っていると申しましたが、どうも私のカメラではうまく撮影できません。そこで、光源に直接吊るしてみました。これで、中にカラービーズがたくさん入っているのが、お分かりになりますでしょうか？
この円柱は、新しいチョーカーのセンターに来ます。他の「コンポーネント」も少しあって、目下作成中です。今後何日か、順次ここで公開してまいります。

— so, the cylinder is now filled up with color beads, with another “lid” applied to it. See how it looks like.
… というわけで、円柱の中がカラービーズで一杯になりました。その上で、もう1つの「ふた」も取り付けました。こんな感じになっています。

もっと接近したところ … ただ、私のボロ カメラでは、ここまでの接写ができません。そのため、写真がボヤけております。

So, what am I gonna do with the empty cylinder below?? Filling it in with larger beads of different colors — as you see, this is how it looks, when it is half filled up.
では、下の空洞の円柱で何をするのか？？ 中に、各色のもう少し大きいビーズを入れていくのです。下の写真は、ご覧のように、半分詰まった状態。

Not a gene-modified sweet corn —

遺伝子操作して透明になったトウモロコシ・・・ では、ありません！ 上の長方形を円柱にしたのです。内部は空洞です。
Then, I add a “lid” of a larger transparent bead on one end of the cylinder. This
photo shot was too close for my poor camera to capture clearly. So, the photo image is blurred, yet I hope you notice the “lid.”
そして、もう少し大きなビーズで円柱の片方に「ふた」をします。
あまりにクロースアップなので、私のカメラでは鮮明にはとらえられません。そのため、写真がぼやけていますが、「ふた」が分かりますでしょうか。
