Russia’s Envoy Foresees Showdown in JCPOA Talks – Politics news – Tasnim News Agency

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The permanent representative of Russia to the international organizations in Vienna predicted that the current and fifth round of talks for the revival of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal would be the final round of negotiations.
“The fifth round of the Vienna talks on JCPOA is under way. As of now, there are no plans for the sixth,” Mikhail Ulyanov said in a post on his Twitter account on Sunday.
“The negotiators proceed from the understanding that the current round should be final,” the Russian ambassador noted.
The most recent round of JCPOA negotiations that began on April 6 examines the potential of revitalization of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the US’ likely return to it.
The US left the JCPOA in 2018 and restored the economic sanctions that the accord had lifted. Tehran retaliated with remedial nuclear measures that it is entitled to take under the JCPOA’s Paragraph 36.

テヘラン発、Tasnimの報道 – ウィーンに本拠を置く国際機関向けのロシアの常任代表者Mikhail Ulyanovの予想によれば、2015年のイランとの核合意の回復を目指す交渉は、現在第5ラウンドが進行中だが、それが交渉の最後のラウンドになるだろう、とのことだ。
その代表が日曜日に自分のTwitterアカウントで述べたところでは、「JCPOAの第5ラウンドが進行中だ。今のところ、第6ラウンドの予定はない」
「現在の交渉は、このラウンドが最後になるという了解で行われている」と、このロシア大使は述べている。
現在のJCPOA交渉のラウンドはこの4月6日に始まり、包括的共同行動計画（JCPOA）を回復させる可能性を探るもので、アメリカはこの合意に復帰するものとみられている。
この核合意によりアメリカは対イラン制裁を解除していたのだが、2018年にJCPOAから脱退、制裁を再開した。それに対抗してイラン政府は、JCPOAの第36条でイランが行ってもよいとされている核関連の対応（ウラニウムの20％濃縮）を実施した。
