I wanted to work on some new works Friday and Saturday, yet I was exhausted, after the rush jobs and the PC hard disk breakdown.
Though I’m already up and well, I need several more days before I can post a new work here.
So, for now, another quick drawing from a cafe I made years ago —

この金曜・土曜に新しい作品に取り掛かりたかったのですが、いかんせん、例の急ぎ仕事とPCのハードディスクのクラッシュの後で、疲れ果てていました。
すでに回復して起き上がっておりますが、新しい作品を投稿するまでには、数日かかりそうです。
なので、今のところは、昔描いたカフェでのクイックスケッチをもう１つ・・・

Nothing more than a product of a common practice —

I had a week-long rush writing job, and while I was at work on it, my desktop PC’s hard disk broke down!! Thus, the single-week job became a two-week one, and some others came in!
At last, yesterday I got them all done. Now, I can post something again in here.

Here is a quick drawing of a statue — if you are a painter too, you probably carry some pencils, pens, and a sketchbook around almost everywhere you go.
Years ago, I wanted to have a cup of coffee in a district called West Shinjuku, a skyscraper district of Tokyo. So I dropped in a cafe, where I found this statue. I had never drawn this particular statue — I drew a Mars, an Aphrodite, etc. before, yet not this one — so I just made a quick sketch of the statue in the sketch book I had, with a charcoal pencil.

That’s all of that. Please wait till I come up with a new work!

1週間かかる大急ぎのライティングの仕事があって、あわててやっていたら、デスクトップPCのハードディスクがぶっ飛んでしまいました！ そのため、1週間の仕事が2週間になり、その間にほかの仕事も入ってたのです～～
昨日ようやく、すべてやり終えました。やっとここで、投稿を再開できます。

ある彫刻の、クイック デッサンです。絵描きの皆様ならたいてい、スケッチブックと鉛筆やペンを持ち歩いてらっしゃると思います。どこに行くにも。
何年も前、東京の西新宿でコーヒーを飲みたくなって、カフェに入ったら、この彫刻がありました。この彫刻は、描いたことがなかったのです。マルスとかアフロディーテーとかは、もちろん描いたことがありましたが。それで、持っていたスケッチブックに、チャーコール鉛筆でざっと描いたものです。

まあ、それだけのことです。次の作品をアップロードするまで、しばしお待ちください。

The coffee was good!

That blue-and-white cross pendant top is done, at last!
Since the client wanted a *broad cross,* and working with Swarovski beads made the cross shape rather hard to recognize, I formed a Latin cross in the middle.

Around 25mm x 20mm (1″ x 0.8″)
If you want a similar pendant top of Swarovski beads, I could make one to your order, for some JPY2,500 to 3,000, without a semi-precious or precious stone. (The chain in the photo is not included.)

It’s a lovely old church —

I’m sure the six 20-min croquis below are rather hard to see, due to the poor quality of the photos.
Now, here is a work I’ve made out of one of the six. I’m sure this one is a lot better.
You know, it does not make much sense to make a quality photo of a 20-min croquis — after all, it’s just a quick drawing (croquis). A fully developed work like this deserves quality photographing.

Floating towards the light

Whew, it’s been a very busy week —
At last, I’m back here, after another croquis (quick drawing) session.
As usual, the model took six poses, as shown below.
I prepared three randomly-painted large sheets of paper, and drew two poses on each of them. I hope you find the results interesting. As always, the artiｓts were given 20 minutes for each pose.

As always, I will work further on some of them and post the results here.

大変多忙な1週間でした。今日もクロッキー（速写画）会があって、ようやくこうして投稿ができるようになりました。
いつもどおり、モデルさんは全部で6つのポーズを取りましたが、その6つを下に紹介しますね。
ランダムにペイントした大きな紙を3枚用意しておき、各1枚に2ポーズずつを描いて行ったのです。その結果、面白いものになったと思っていただければ幸いです。
さらに毎度ながら、この20分クロッキー6枚のうち何枚かを選んで、さらに描画を進めていきます。

出来上がったら、またここに投稿しますね。しばしお待ちを。。

It’s a church! I went to conceptual art exhibition in Gaien-mae, Tokyo, and found this church close to the venue. I made a quick drawing of it.

教会なんです。東京の外苑前というところでコンセプチャル アートのイベントがあったので、それに行ったら、近くにこの建物があったのですね。面白いので、急いでスケッチをしたのです。

It’s small objects like rings that are hard to photograph!

I’ve been fostering a Muslim girl in Jordan, beliving and praying that “God of Abraham” will unite the three Abrahamic persuasions in peace someday!
She’s having her birthday soon, so I made this ring of beads and sent it to her.

As you see, the problem with a small object is photographing it!!

小さな物体というのは、写真撮影がしにくいですねえ！

私は以前から、ヨルダンにいるあるムスリムの女の子をフォスターしております。「アブラハムの神」がいつか、アブラハムの3系統の子孫たち ― イスラム教徒、ユダヤ教徒、キリスト教徒 ― を平和のうちに結び付けてくださることを信じて。
その女の子が近く誕生日を迎えるので、ビーズのリングを作って送ったのです。

ご覧のとおり、リングのような小さな物体は、どうも写真撮影が難しいですね。
オオボケ写真で、ごめんなさい。もう少しマシなカメラが必要です。

I got an order for this “broad cross” pandant top — it’s still only halfway done.
I gotta make one more of the same piece and combine the two together on each other’s back — otherwise, the pieces do not come straight!

I’ll show the price for a pendant top of this type, when this one is done.
