Singing G.F. Handel’s “Lascia Ch’io Pianga,” I worked further on this painting, and I think it’s more painful now. I have some more way to go before getting it done.
In “Weeping Face,”  I am trying to paint a face that cannot even shout for peace, liberation, justice, etc., even though the face definitely yearns for them.
As you know, oppression / persecution often tries to silence the victims —
Obviously, they deserve to shout out, yet it requires the world’s intention to listen to them — before they shout out.

… 痛々しくなりました。GF Handel のアリア “Lascia Ch’io Pianga” を歌いながら描いているうちに、さらに痛々しさが増したと思います。まだ、完成ではありません。
この “Weeping Face”  では、平和や解放、公正を渇望しながらも、それを叫ぶこともできない「顔」を描こうとしております。
ご存じのとおり、弾圧や迫害というものは、犠牲者に沈黙を強いるものです。
犠牲者に叫ぶ権利があることは明らかなのですが、実際に叫ぶには、彼らが叫ぶ前から、世界が彼らの叫びに聞き入ろうとする決意が求められます。

Growing more painful, I think — “Weeping Face” still in the making

So, I’ve made six of the heart below in all — in the coming several days, I’ll make a “joky” (size-adjustable) bracelet featuring all of the six.

下のハート、全部で6つ作りました。これから何日か、この6つすべてを使った「ふざけた」（サイズ調整できる）ブレスレットを作ります。

3 of the heart

The making of Weeping Face goes on —
my prayer for anyone under persecution, oppression, discrimination, and/or in war, famine, etc.
This time, I changes the photo lighting. This one shows what is closer to the “true colors” than do my photos below.

Weeping Face の制作も続いております。
迫害や弾圧、差別、戦火、飢饉などにある方々すべてのための、私なりの祈り。
今回は撮影時の照明を変えました。こちらの方が、従来のものよりも、実物の色に近いです。

So, I’ve modified the “recipe” for a beaded heart. I hope this one looks closer to the shape of a heart. What do you say??  I think it does.
The real thing of this heart is around 1.5cm in max width — a little piece.

というわけで、ビーズを編んだハートの「レシピ」自体を修正しました。下のものの方が、ハートに近いと思うのですが、いかがでしょうか？
このハート、実物は最大幅が1.5㎝程度の小さなものです。

Closer to a heart, I hope —

I’m working on my next beaded work as well, and it should consist of some hearts — I’m making it for a daughter in Jordan I’ve been fostering.
So, I’ve made this heart in pink, yet the problem is a heart of woven seed beads look quite “rugged” — needless to say, a bigger heart should look more naturally curved, yet since this is supposed to be a “component” of a bracelet worn by a pre-teen girl, the heart cannot be very big.
Well, I need more time and trials and errors —–  <“(+_+ ;;)>

次のビーズ作品にも取り組んでおります。ハートがいくつか並ぶ作品です。実はヨルダンにいるお嬢ちゃんを私がフォスターしていて、その「娘」のために作るのです。
で、下のピンクをビーズを編んで作ったのですが、どうもビーズを編んだハートは「ゴツゴツ」しますなあ。言うまでもなく、もっと大きなハートなら、いくらか滑らかな曲線に見えるのですが、まだティーンにもなっていない娘のブレスレットにするので、あまり大きくはできないのですよ～
まだ、いろいろ時間をかけた試行錯誤が必要なようですね。。

A heart of woven seed beads

Lately, I’ve been posting mainly my beaded works. Yet I am working on the paiting, “Weeping Face,” as well.
The photo, in its bottom, shows a filthy horizontal bar — it’s part of the easel holding the painting, not any part of the painting!
“Weeping Face” does not stand for any particular person in tears. Rather, I mean it to be anyone under oppression, injustice, conflicts, violence, etc.

このところ、主にビーズ作品の投稿をしてきましたが、Weeping Faceの絵画制作も続けております。
この写真では、底部に汚らしい水平の棒がありますが、これは絵画を保持しているイーゼルの一部です。作品の一部では、ございません。
“Weeping Face” は、だれか特定の一人物を想定しておりません。そうではなく、弾圧や不正、対立、暴力などなどに涙する顔を描いたものです。

というわけで、KとEのサンプルをもう１つずつ作ってみました。
ご覧のように、Kは読みやすいですよね。Eがなんやら読みづらいでしょ？
これで、ビーズを編んだ文字がある作品をご注文いただく際の、色の選び方をご理解くだされば、と願います  —
— 文字を読みやすくなさりたい場合には、明暗の大きく異なる2色をお選びくださいな。
下の例ですと、Kは白と黒という明暗のため、ハッキリとしてますよね？それに対し、Eは青と赤という明らかに異なる色なのですが、明暗が同程度のため、読みづらくなっています。
— さらに、つや消しつまり輝きの少ないシードビーズで編むと、文字は読みやすくなります。
ただし当然、「ビーズのきらめき」はなくなります。

というわけで、NO! NUKESアクセサリーをご注文いただく際に、お客様にビーズの色をご指定いただくのですが、その色選択での注意事項でした。
NO! NUKESアクセサリーの場合、正式にご注文いただいたら、まず文字を一通り作りますね。その写真をお客様に送り、ご確認いただきます。その上で、必要なら作り直しをします。

価格
天然石なしの場合で、NO! NUKESチョーカー/ネックレスは、1作品につき￥6,000- となります。
天然石なしでこの価格は高い！ のは存じております。でも、ビーズを編んで文字にするのは、大変な手間と時間がかかるのですね。それと、上述の作り直しを１回含んだ値段です。

So, I made another letter sample each of “K” and “E” — as shown below.
As you see, the K is quite easily legible, while the E is enigmatic.
I hope these give you some cues on which colors to choose, if you make an order for an item with beaded letters —
— IF you want good legibility, please choose a “bright and dark colors” combination in a letter.
You see, the K below, in white and black, is quite easily legible. The E consists of two obviously different colors, dark blues and red, yet the letter is not easily legible, since the two colors are of similar brightness.
— With matte, non-glittering seed beads, the resulting letter comes out more legible.
Yet this results in a letter without “bead glitters” —

Now, when you make an order, the color choice is up to each of you.  With a “NO! NUKES” accessory, I’ll work on the letters first and send each of you, customers, a photo of the letters, so you can decide whether or not you like the letters. If you don’t, I’ll do re-work on the letters!

Price:
A NO! NUKES choker, without a “natural stone,” costs JPY6,000-.
I know this is rather hefty for an accessory without a natural, semi-precious stone, yet beading all those letters take a lot of work and time. Also, this JPY6,000- includes one rework mentioned above.

I know the K and the E have poor legibility. So, in case you make an order for a NO! NUKES choker / necklace, you can choose some colors with better legibility — for instance, the Ns and the S in the photo. (Please remember, this is a sample and I had to show you some bad examples as well!)

Also, currently most of the seed beads I have are of “brilliant, glittering” types. In several days, I’ll show you K and E made with matte seed beads. I’m sure they come with way better legibility. Yet needless to say, matte seed beads do not have the “bead glitters.” Which you choose is totally up to eaxh of you.

ご覧のとおり、KとEが読みづらいですね。ですから、もしこのNO! NUKESチョーカー / ネックレスをご注文いただく場合には、たとえば下の写真のNやSのような読みやすい色をご指定くださることを、お勧めします。（この写真は、あくまでサンプルなので、よくない実例も示しておく必要があるので、ご注意くださいな）

それと、現時点で私の持っているシードビーズのほとんどが、「きらめく」タイプなのですよ～  何日かしたら、輝きのないシードビーズでKとEも作ってみますね。その方が、読みやすくなるはずです。ただし、言うまでもありませんが、つや消しのシードビーズで作ると、読みやすくはなりますがビーズの輝きはありません。
どちらを選ぶかは、ご注文くださるお客様それぞれの好みになります。
