Once in a while, Atelier anastasia designs printed matter as well.
here is an example — the front side of a flyer calling for plaintiffs to a lawsuit.

This is yet another experiment — for some practical necessity. Once in a while, there are occasions where I need to wear a nametag, even though I am not an office worker. So, I tried weaving my name (HEEDAY) in this rosary.

これも、実験で作ったもの。現実的な必要がありました。「会社員」でなくても、名札を付けることが、ときにありますよね。そんなときのために、自分の名前（HEEDAY)をビーズで編んだロザリオです。

i just had a terrible week with a murderous work deadline — now it’s done and I can post something again.

This is not a work but an experimental trial. Threaded beads are nice, but they are limited in creation of forms, especially forms built with straight lines, like diamond shapes.
So, I tried using some plastic tubes as in the photo below. Yes, I did make a diamond shape, but the plastic tubes make the whole thing looks like a toy — glass tubes can make it look better, but glasses can break and hurt the wearer. So, the experiment must go on —-

私、この1週間はひどいもので、とんでもない納期の仕事にかかりっきりでした。終わらせたので、ようやくここに投稿を再開できます。

この写真は作品ではなく、実験です。糸を通したビーズというのはキレイですが、形態の造形に限界があります。ダイア形のような直線で構成された形態を、作りにくいのですね。
そこで、プラスチック製チューブを使ってみた実験が、これ。たしかに、ダイア形はできました。でも、プラスチック製のチューブですと、全体がオモチャぽくなってしまいました。ガラスのチューブなら見栄えは良いのかもしれませんが、ガラスが割れると、来ている方に傷を負わせる恐れが・・・　そんなわけで、この実験はまだ続きます。

Looking back, I seem to be enchanted by landscapes with no human in it — I don’t know why.
This is actually a harbor in Lake Ontario, on the shore of Toronto. A very quick sketch.

どうも私は、無人の風景というのが好きなようですなあ。この素早く描いたスケッチは、カナダのトロントの岸から見た、オンタリオ湖にある入り江。

I’m not sure. Either way, this land near Los Osos, a village west of San Luis Obispo, California, is one of my fav places to draw in the world.
After this quick sketch, I made some paintings featuring “wasteland” — I’ll show you one of them later on.

破棄されて荒れた土地なのか？ 昔からの自然のままなのか？
それは私には分かりませんが、このカリフォルニアのサンルイス オビスポの西にあるロス オソスという村近郊の荒れ野は、世界でも私の好きなスケッチ場所の1つです。このクイック スケッチを描いた後、荒れ野を描いた絵画をいくつか描きました。そのうち、その1つを紹介しますね。

Recently, I’ve been having so many writing jobs with tough deadlines I have been unable to post new beaded works or hand-painted clothes.
For the time being, I have to post some of the paintings and drawings I made before.

Somehow, I seem to like this one — a path leading to —- where?? Such unknown-ness fascinates me, somehow. Yet some others find the scenery “too deserted and lonesome”!

このところ納期のきついライティングの仕事が続いているため、ビーズ アクセサリーやハンドペイント シャツの新作を発表できずにおります。しばらくは、以前に描いたスケッチや絵画を紹介しておきますね。

私自身はこの光景は気に入っていて、道がどこに行くのか分からないという点が好きなんです。ただ、人によってはこの風景は、「だれもいなくて、寂しい」そうです。

1週間ほどこのブログに新たな投稿をしていないのは、ご察しのとおり、ライティング仕事の納期に追われているためです。新作を投稿するまで、しばしお待ちくださいませ。
しかし、納期に追われているときでも、世界の平和を祈っていることに変わりはありません。

I haven’t updated this weblog over teh last week or so —sorry for this. The reason, as you probably guess, is that I’ve been meeting some harsh deadlines of writing jobs. Until I post my new works here, please wait.
Even while such deadlines are haunting me, however, I do pray for peace of the world.

Another cartoon I made years ago, for a Japanese website discussing the nuke weapon race between the former USSR and the USA, back in the Reagan years.
You know, if a Martian came here and see what we, the earth humans have been doing, he? she? might be frightened by all the genocidal, self-destructive deeds we humans have been doing!! He? She? would certainly not wish to invase our planet….

Official: “This is a good, God-fearing US nuke missile.  That one is an evil, atheist Soviet nuke missile.”
Martian: “Hey, what’s the difference!?!?”

これもその昔、私が描いた漫画です。レーガン時代、アメリカと旧ソビエトの間での核軍備競争がかまびすしかったことを解説した、ある日本語ウェブサイトのために描いたもの。
ちょっと想像していただければ… もし火星人がいて地球に来て、地球の人類のやってきた殺戮行為を知れば、恐怖に震えるでしょう。地球を侵略したいなどとは、夢にも思いますまい！

担当官: 「こちらは神の国アメリカの良い核ミサイル。あちらは、無神論の国ソビエトの、邪悪な核ミサイル」
火星人: 「どこがちゃうねん！？」

“What’s the difference!?!?”

I’m NOT a comic artist. When I draw cartoons, my lines are clumsy. So, I usually avoid making cartoons. Yet once in a while, the situation / context / readers require a few cartoons.
As you see in the example below, it’s clumsy. I drew it for a certain website describing the history of the Jerusalem Temple.
Yet with a topic like this, how much sense is there in “fine elegant lines”??
Rather, let’s pray for peace over there!!

私は漫画家ではないので、漫画を無理に描くと線がぎこちないです。漫画は普段、描きません。ただ、状況や読者の要求などから、漫画を無理に描かないといけない場合もたまにありまして。
下の例でご覧のとおり、ぎこちないです。エルサレム神殿の歴史を解説した、あるウェブサイトのために、以前描いたものです。
しかし、こういう題材に関しては、「線のうまさ」なんてことに、いかほどの意味が？？
みなさん、むしろ、かの地の平和を祈りましょう！
