Who says I’ve been painting/drawing naked women alone these days??
I am working on some cityscapes and landscapes as well.
My intention is to study cityscapes with people in them, with each person saying something with his/her body posture. So, I need to learn both cities and human body postures.
I went to a concert tonight, and there is a famous church (whose tower-top cross is in the sketch below) right next to the concert hall, so I tried to sketch the church before the concert — alas, this was a district packed with skyscrapers and other buildings, and there was no place where I could obtain a good view of the church!!
So, I looked for something else to sketch, and found this empty outdoor stage — it was a rainy day, and the stage looked abandoned. And the church’s tower-top cross was visible.
You know, an abandoned stage with a cross looking down on it creates some apocalyptic image — so I sketched it.

このところ、「裸の女性」ばかり描いているように思われるかもしれませんが、実は都市風景なども研究を続けています。
人間のいる都市風景、それもそれぞれの人間が身体の姿勢で何かを語っている都市風景を描きたいのですね。そのため、人体の姿勢の醸し出す意味と、都市の光景との両方を学んでいるところなんです。
今夜はコンサートに行ってたのですが、コンサートホールのすぐそばに有名な教会があるので（そのタワーの上にある十字架だけ、舌のスケッチに登場しています）、それをスケッチしようと思ったのです。ところが。その地区は高層ビルも含めてビルが混み合う地域なので、その教会を適切に見渡せる場所がないのですよ！
しゃーない、他に何かスケッチに適したものがないかと探していたら、ありました。この、空虚な屋外ステージです。雨の1日だったので、ステージはあたかも廃棄されたかのように、無人でした。さらに、教会のタワーのトップにある十字架がその上に現れていたんです。
